@British_Airways Have you managed to put a WhatsApp line in place for all those travellers who only have a data connection whilst in foreign countries so they can contact you in emergencies? Such a simple, easy win. #ba #britishairways #customerservice #WhatsApp

Maybe I’m not making myself clear: Many travelers do not have a working phone (cellular) number in some countries as their phone providers roaming charges are excessive. Therefore travelers purchase local SIM cards which would allow them to make WhatsApp calls in emergencies.

@British_Airways I am sure many of your customers would be extremely grateful of this. Sadly, in my situation, I had no other option but to reinsert my UK SiM and incurred nearly £100 of roaming costs using my mobile after an hour long (helpful) phone call to the gold card hotline.

@British_Airways Many, many travelers use a local SIM card when travelling - but this does not provide cellular access, only data. Therefore a WhatsApp number which a traveler could call using data would have been incredibly helpful. I am therefore asking that BA adopt such a contact.

@British_Airways A chatbot only has limited use. We were recently stranded in Chile and needed to return to the UK urgently due to a death in the family. Needed to reschedule a bunch of flights some of which were booked with Avios - a Bot would have been helpless.
