This morning, I was reading about Jonah. And Wow. What a spaz. God tells Jonah to go to Nineveh. Jonah gets on a boat going the opposite direction. Not a slow no, a running no. A storm. Overboard. Three days in a fish. God says it again: Go. Jonah finally goes, preaches, and the entire city repents. One of the greatest revivals in Scripture. And Jonah is furious about it. The audacity. He sits outside the city pouting, waiting to see if God would destroy them anyway. When God shows mercy instead, Jonah throws a full tantrum. "But to Jonah this seemed very wrong, and he became angry."— Jonah 4:1 He ran from the assignment. He had a bad attitude the whole way through. He sulked when it worked.
