@johnpalmer Thoughts on an async game to bypass the need for many concurrent players?

in my opinion all the NFT projects building open world metaverses should just be building battle royales. - easier to build and ship earlier - proven gameplay model that’s fun - lower commitment and easier for recurring casual behavior - play for 15 mins at a time if you want

Genuinely think all-in-one DAO tools are ngmi There's so many niches and verticals that will be left out no matter what - and that's a problem for new communities Composability is absolutely key for DAOs and will always reign supreme

The open metaverse is standard and platform agnostic. We can’t create it if we’re playing a zero sum game.

@EmilWallner @Suhail Interesting, thanks. Any experience with reliability for regular (on-demand) instances? Fwiw I thought colab pro+ was also regular instance with up to 24h runtime — and no reliability issues in my experience (started from jan 22).

@nomology @Suhail aws, gcp, and colab pro+. there will be several days where you either can’t get a spot instance, or days when they are cut off every few hours. i use it daily. it works better if you only train a few times per month

Where are you training your models? Did you buy your own GPUs? Are you using AWS/GCP/Azure? How do you keep your costs low?

@chriscantino In practice, token holders are a subset of a community. Ex: blue chip NFT communities have a much larger active community than the few thousand holders.

how about a TCR that verifies wallets and NFT contracts and filters airdrop spam? no more need for centralized verification. disputes are escalated via a subjective oracle. deposits are indefinite, but accounts can submit any wallet/contract as long as they have enough deposit.

equally amazed by the product ideas from early DALL-E testers, and the creativity of what their kids are generating with it on the weekends. feels like that has to be a good sign.

The same reason Moonbirds sold out and has massive volume is the same reason I am not convinced 3D renders(e.g worlds, avatars) are the bigger opportunity right now. We're still very 2D in our digital interactions, for IRL interactions we have outside, remember that place?
