The irony is this: The US is known as home of the free and land of the brave, yet we have more per capita in prison for dumb crap than any other nation. I met a guy who went to prison for 5 years for habitually driving with a suspended license... His story was that he lived out in the middle of nowhere and just needed to get to work. I went to prison for over 5 years for defending myself against someone who knocked me out repeatedly before hitting him with a blade in my pocket. It's a big money game for the states and has nothing to do with justice
