@PhilMyers53 A far left wing coup, you mean. The back benchers have blocked him from day 1

EVERYONE needs to STOP. THINK. REFLECT  Wednesday's Kings speech will descend into utter chaos if the witch hunt continues WHY is Starmer unpopular? Because the media have done EVERYTHING in their power to tarnish his reputation  Its a RIGHT-WING COUP NO! #TenYearKeir

File this under “Speculation and rumour” but several Welsh Labour sources tell me that initial impressions are that things are pretty brutal for them in West Wales and that First Minister Eluned Morgan is at serious risk of losing her seat.

@DPJHodges Interesting that the media portrayed the Greens as the threat. But they are nowhere.

Reform are basically wiping Labour out in the North. It's not a defeat. It's not even a rout. Labour are simply ceasing to exist.

@LozzaFox Dear Laurence, Today democracy died in the UK. Expect Reform to start banning political parties, independent journalists, and political opposition. Really reminds me of the Nazis in 1933. This was the last free election in the UK I am sure. Sad day for democracy, Wolfgang

@Alexarmstrong Agree and it also happens when establishment is adamant to give power to reform. Voting manipulation is nothing new in the UK politics. Reform will win next elections and follow MAGA politics

Keir Starmer is finished. So many Labour MP’s are already calling for his resignation. The public have utterly rejected him after less than 2 years in office. A staggering level of failure

The foremost question Labour party members should be asking themselves this morning, following yesterday’s predicted disastrous showing in the local, mayoral and devolved government elections, is this: do you care more about the short-term survival of your party or the long-term survival of your country? Because as it stands, and if the predicted coup against Keir Starmer is set in motion later today, that is the choice you will now have to make. The reason why Starmer has been such a dithering and inept Prime Minister is that, wittingly or not, he has always placed party before country. Most of his bad decisions, and the failure to make good ones, have stemmed from his undue concern for the left-wing faction that constitute his backbenches, and from the threat posed to the party by leftwingers outside it. ✍️ Patrick West Article | spectator.com/article/reform…

@ab_wxm How is it a threat when it's giving people what they are voting for? Because it's democracy? Same way reform voters accept a labour govt. Like I say, I don't support reform and wont vote for them. Their approach is decisive I will say, but I don't see why this is a shock.

@nopicbot If it wasn't a threat, they would be putting them in Reform constituencies. So we circle back to Will's point, which you all consistently ignore because you have no answer: why should Reform voters in Plaid constituencies accept this?

Imagine if you are a Reform voter hearing the leader of your party in Wales say that if there are not enough fellow Reform supports in your area he will punish (as he sees it) your community. Every seat in Wales will likely have at least Reform MS after this election...
Rhys Owen@RhysOwen1234

🚨Reform UK Leader in Wales, Dan Thomas, has said he would be in favour of putting migrant detention centres in Plaid-led Westminster constituencies. 1/4

@ab_wxm So you think it's a good thing, so it's not a threat, just a consequence of voting for it. Yes it was a gotcha, which is similar to what was done by saying it's trying to punish people, or a threat. When we was talking about aligning policy to those who vote for it.

@nopicbot I didn't say that anywhere in my tweet. You've ignored both of the points I did make, to clumsily attempt the "gotcha" you've seen Reform's leadership do.

@nopicbot Firstly it wouldn't be what they want - the entire point is they *don't* want immigrants detained and deported. Regardless, it is being communicated by Reform as a threat. That's just factually the case.

@ab_wxm It's only a threat if you see illegal immigrants as a threat? Look, it's not a policy I support. There are better ways to organise the system. But how can it be punishing people, if that's what they want? That's all I'm saying

@nopicbot It's so disingenuous to deny what we can all see, which is it's undeniably intended as a thread. You've ignored Will's point, which is what about Reform voters in those constituencies, who have not voted for that?

@welshhighlandrr @WillHayCardiff Sounds sensible. It's wrong that people stay in limbo unable to do anything. But to me, that also means sending people away that shouldn't be here. Unlike the family my wife is currently helping who have had 6 appeals refused and yet are still here
