Trump promised to lower costs on Day One. Instead, his reckless handling of the war with Iran is driving up gas prices, fueling inflation, and making life more expensive for working families.   While billionaires cash in on his tax giveaways, Americans are paying more at the pump, at the grocery store, and just to get by.   This is a Trump-made economic crisis, and working people are paying the price.
The Washington Post@washingtonpost

The war in Iran is driving a sharp increase in inflation, as surging gasoline prices ripple through the American economy. The increase marks the steepest year-over-year rise since September 2023. wapo.st/3Plh7ip

JUST IN: Inflation is now eating up all wage gains for the first time in about three years. This is painful for Americans and a true financial squeeze. CPI Inflation in past year: 3.8% Wage gains: in past year: 3.6%

Trump's disapproval rating on the economy has hit a whopping 70% in the new @cnn poll. It never even reached 50% in his first term.

It was a privilege to recognize local Vietnam Veteran Richard Beasom for his service and sacrifice with a commemorative lapel pin honoring the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War. If you know a Vietnam Veteran who should receive this recognition, please contact my District Office at (909) 481-6474

The only thing "unhinged" here is a President calling for a private "army" to hover over legal voters. This blatant attempt to bully Americans out of their right to vote is pathetic. Our democracy doesn’t belong to anyone.

Happy Mother’s Day to the women who inspire us daily. Today, we celebrate the incredible moms, grandmas, aunts, and caregivers who do so much for their families and communities every day. Moms deserve more than flowers, that’s why we’re fighting for affordable childcare and elder care, reproductive freedom, and lower costs.

I’m inspired by the leadership and compassion shown by the seniors at San Antonio High School! These students designed, fundraised, and built a “Kindness Den” at Sumner Elementary School to provide hygiene products, school supplies, and food to students in need. Our future is brighter because of young leaders like you.

ICE raids don’t just impact immigrant communities, they are also hurting American workers, lowering employment and destabilizing local economies. This fear-based approach is not a solution. It’s chaos that makes working families less secure. We need immigration policy rooted in order, fairness, and real economic sense, not cruelty.
The Washington Post@washingtonpost

President Trump’s immigration raids and checkpoints are weighing on the labor market, leading to fewer jobs for both U.S.-born men without a college degree as well as undocumented immigrants, according to a new economic study. wapo.st/4dqzrzT

I introduced and passed Savanna’s Act because for too long, the crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women was met with a shrug from the federal government. But passing the law was only the beginning. Today, on National #MMIW Awareness Day, I’m continuing to press the Justice Department for full implementation. We fixed the data gaps on paper, now we must ensure every tribal community sees that justice in practice.

Today’s SCOTUS decision temporarily restores access to mifepristone, but reproductive health care should not shift from one ruling to the next. Medication abortion is safe, legal, and should remain a decision between patients and their doctors. Congress must act to protect access so families and providers are not left in uncertainty every time the courts step in.

Montclair seniors celebrated the City’s 70th anniversary in style with a 70s-themed birthday party! It was a joy to celebrate with our community and honor this milestone together. Thank you to everyone who came out, and happy birthday to all our seniors celebrating April birthdays.

Families in the Inland Empire are being priced out of health care. because Republicans let key Covered CA subsidies expire. Premiums are skyrocketing and millions are losing coverage. Health care should be affordable, not a luxury. nytimes.com/2026/05/01/bus…

I’m done with “decorum” while my community is being insulted. Why are Dreamers, who have worked and paid taxes here for decades, called "illegal," while the red carpet is rolled out for those using the "Einstein Visa" loophole? It’s pure hypocrisy to attack immigrants when you slept your way into a “genius” visa. Real merit is earned through 20 years of hard work, not through connections and back doors.

🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Norma Torres gets HEATED, tries to walk away when pressed on DACA LindellTV's @Alisonintheknow confronted @NormaJTorres on Capitol Hill: “You’re fighting for DACA recipients - how is this not amnesty?” Torres: “How is it amnesty when these young people have been here their entire lives? They’re as American as you.” Reporter: “They entered here illegally … and now you want them to remain here permanently.” Rep. Torres (getting heated and trying to escape): “EXCUSE ME - I want them to be US citizens as they deserve to be US citizens.” Classic open borders response - ignore the illegal entry, demand citizenship anyway, then get angry when challenged on the rule of law. Breaking the law first shouldn’t fast-track you to citizenship while legal immigrants wait in line for years. Should DACA be amnesty? Or should we secure the border and enforce our laws first?
