Labour MPs Were Told To Block Amendments Giving Victims Right To Free Court Transcripts: Labour MPs were told to vote down House of Lords amendments to the Victims and Courts Bill which would allow people to have free access to transcripts of court proceedings in which they are the victims. Three clauses were added to the legislation by the House of Lords, including "a clause that would enable victims to have access to free transcripts of court proceedings". Costs for victims requesting transcripts of trials; including those who are victims of rape or sexual assault, can run into the tens of thousands, which critics say leaves many unable to pay the fees and therefore unable to access transcripts of trials in which they are the victim.

Interesting. I remember working on this story with Sima Kotecha at Newsnight. The costs to victims are really high. One rape victim was quoted £7,500 for the transcript of her trial. Another victim was quoted £300 just for the judge's sentencing remarks: bbc.co.uk/news/uk-671238…

She annulled over 3,500 child marriages across 22 years and mandated girls' return to school. She sadly passed away in August 2025. She faced continual death threats, despite this she built a network of "secret mothers and fathers" to monitor and protect children, contributing to Malawi's 2017 law setting the age of marriage at 18.... A true Warrior for women and girls. x

Three years ago, on 25 March 2023, Kellie-Jay Keen came to New Zealand to front a Let Women Speak rally in Albert Park, Auckland. Around 2,000 trans activists gathered there to protest that rally of 150-ish mostly middle-aged and older women, and some men. The police, whom it’s considered were unduly influenced by a man in their ranks who says he’s a woman and goes by the name of Rhona Stace, failed to protect Kellie-Jay and the rally attendees when the trans activists turned into a feral rabble. It was the worst mob violence against women ever seen in NZ.

Woman of the Day metallurgist Marie Gayler, born OTD in 1891 in Bristol. If you haven’t benefitted directly from her work, you almost certainly know someone who has. And here comes the science bit: she established the metallurgical constitution of an alloy consisting of silver, tin and mercury and worked out a new technique for setting the amalgam so it could be used for its primary purpose. Filling teeth. That’s why she is one of only three women made an Honorary Member of the British Dental Association. Marie’s route to her field of expertise was the one taken by so many women of her time - a zigzag approach. She started working at 16 as a “girl clerk” with the London Post Office, pursued her studies and graduated with a BSc in 1912, taught science at Colston's Girls School in Bristol for three years and in 1915 was just one of two women to join the scientific staff in the Metallurgy Department of the National Physical Laboratory. By 1918, Marie had been elected as one of only four women in the Iron and Steel Institute. From 1920 onwards, she was researching and publishing papers on the behaviours of alloys. She was also the first woman to attain a DSc in Chemistry from the University of London. When she married a fellow NPL metallurgist in 1934, the Civil Service marriage bar - a bar that only applied to women, you understand - was strictly enforced. This would have been something of a setback for her department, so her boss at the Metallurgy Department of the National Physical Laboratory applied for a special dispensation. She was one of only five women in the Civil Service who were granted this privilege and it was such a significant event that it was reported in the newspapers at the time. Marie retained her maiden name for professional purposes. Just in time. In 1935, Marie began her work on dental amalgams. This led to the first real understanding of the setting reaction in amalgams for which dental science remembers her. Marie’s work also established an understanding of age-hardening in duralumin family of aluminium alloys - or in simple terms, how to make an aluminium/nickel/copper/magnesium/silicon alloy suitable for internal combustion engine pistons. It also helped the skin of Concorde withstand the heat of air resistance friction at supersonic speeds. Her retirement in 1947 was marked by the British Dental Association making her an Honorary Member, just one of three women honoured in this way, and by the Institute of Metals awarding her their Platinum Medal. Her last paper published in 1948 reported on her war time work and concerned the behaviour of mild steel and duralloys used in armour piercing missiles. After retiring, Marie was a consultant to the British Non Ferrous Metals Research Association. She died in 1976, aged 85.

If you ever wanted to see how little consideration girls get, just look at all the grown adults having a full meltdown because girls are finally allowed to have girlguids back all for themselves. I've seen people saying it's sick, it's sick that girls get to their stuff back. I have also seen the term "devastating" thrown around, by a politician no less. All these people are absolute scum who won't be happy until girls and women have absolutely nothing.

Still extraordinary to think that the status of women in Scotland declined so sharply while all three main political parties were being led by prominent lesbians.

Trans is a cult, this is a cultist. The indigo kids nonsense didn't die out, it mutated. Why is the LGBT Foundation Trans service called Indigo? See it?
