Can anyone explain to me the mindset behind cruises? Nothing about them is very appealing. Wow, I'm on a big boat with a bunch of strangers that are going to, at a minimum, give me a stomach bug! Traveling is easily my favorite activity, I was going nuts staying in one place all winter, and now we're back traveling. Going on a cruise? Outside maybe a small boat Antarctica one, none of it sounds fun. Dining? Gambling? Entertainment? I can do that anywhere and not be stuck on a floating petri dish. Someone sell me on them because I see ZERO advantages.

Proverbs 31 is not an ode to motherhood. It is a high-bar litmus test of what God demands of a woman. And yet, it might be the only Scripture that is regularly preached to extoll the excellencies of the audience, as if every woman in attendance already meets its high standards. Then on Father's Day, it's "Listen up, deadbeats. I'm gonna compare you to God for the next 45 minutes."
