The consensus among data leaders (for now) is that the semantic layer continues to be the bottleneck for agentic access to customer data, more so than any infrastructure limitation, particularly as business teams start to access the warehouse directly. Last week, I hosted a group from @notablecap’s community of VPs of Data and AI for a discussion on how they're rearchitecting their data stores for agents. Every team in the room has a semantic layer, but only one called theirs mature and agent-accessible.
