@Teems_GH Maresca wanted Gittens, Maresca kicked out Jackson so that he could sign Delap. Chelsea were in for Eketike but Maresca insisted on Delap trying to convince us he coached him at youth level. Maresca was made the 3rd highest paid manager in the PL. He is not some saviour

Acting like two things can’t be true and one didn’t lead to another. Chelsea didn’t want to reward him for hitting his targets and decided to reward themselves whilst actively making the squad worse. I’d start negotiating with City too

I’ve been thinking more about Xabi Alonso and I’m relieved we just got him and ended this nonsense experiment of young inexperienced coaches at the club. We were lucky with Maresca in the sense he managed to deal with most of the pressure. Arsenal were really lucky with Arteta.
