@Ba5Nadeem @Shuayb__ Even if you say all that is true, does it discredit the original point re ethics, geopolitics when we pretend this problem is exclusive to the Uk
English

You can’t drive 10 metres without hurting a pothole. Crime is through the roof. People are miserable . Quality of food is rubbish makes you sick. They inject all sorts of chemicals in “natural” products. Tap water is undrinkable which you pay hundreds of £ yearly for 😂 . My brother the list goes on. As Muslims we should strive to do better. Live a better life
English

@Ba5Nadeem @Shuayb__ I agree countries in GCC are much better in UK when it comes to a lot of factors.
I said a lot of the UK hate unwarranted (not all), the UK has tonnes of problems but when it comes to geopolitics, ethics etc those problems are not exclusive to the UK but are made out to be
English

@notesfromtoday_ @Shuayb__ How is uk hate unwarranted ? Maybe you haven’t left the town you live in to see the world is actually like. A good standard of living. Safe environment. The uae. Saudi. Qatar. Oman. And even some Muslim countries who aren’t as rich as the GCC are far better than the uk
English

@notesfromtoday_ Would you not want to live in a society where you can peacefully be Muslim? UAE is not the only place ofc

Yeah mate, you're absolutely right.
The mosque attacks, constant Islamophobia, questionable school curriculums, £2,000/month rent for a 1-bed, weather that's grey 9 months a year, and a government complicit in Israel's crimes, the Iraq war..basically identical to the UAE safety, year-round sunshine, and being able to practice your deen openly without side-eyes...
Totally the same.

@Shuayb__ Like for example building a family in dubai surely has many of the same cons as there would be in the UK?

@asabbas98 @RenaultFan1 @ThePillarsApp Yh UI wise isn’t the best no matter the option as you’re going to have 2 different dates on the same page
English

@notesfromtoday_ @RenaultFan1 @ThePillarsApp Tbh I don't think this would be cleanest UI wise but would explain to user well what's going on
English

Salaam folks, I need your input for @ThePillarsApp
We've been trying to figure out the best way to present the Hijri calendar in our app ... especially with Ramadan coming up.
Basically we have TWO options:
#1 - BOTH Hijri Dates for the Day
e.g. today is 28th January ... which means it's 9th Sha'ban until Maghrib ... then it switches to 10th Sha'ban.
Therefore, we'd show BOTH dates and underline which one it is CURRENTLY (see image 1)
#2 - ONE (Dynamic) Hijri Date
We'll show you ONLY ONE Hijri date depending on if it's before / after Maghrib.
e.g. before Maghrib you will see 9th Sha'ban. After Maghrib you will see 10th Sha'ban ... but we don't show both.
It's MUCH cleaner (without both dates & the underline) .... but it's limited data and could be confusing (e.g. you're fasting on 22nd Ramadan but Taraweeh that night will be for 23rd Ramadan ... but looking at Pillars it'll say 22nd (correctly so)
What do you think? Poll below 📊👇

English

@asabbas98 @ThePillarsApp You already show the day's progression very neatly in the graphic at the top – integrate previous/following Hijri date into that.
So most prominent number user sees is the current Hijri date, but you can see what date is coming up after maghreb

English

@asabbas98 @ThePillarsApp Definitely both dates
Some good ideas in the comments
Maybe another poll with some more options looking at both dates
