By some counts, 77% of Wikipedia edits are made by the top 1% of editors (which is just a few thousand people). These people each make an absolutely absurd number of edits every day. I'm curious what other parts of the internet have that kind of hyper-power-law going on.

Because Waymo is rapidly scaling up its operations, we're rapidly accumulating more evidence on the question of whether it's safer than human drivers. The case for Waymo being safer than human drivers in in some sense almost twice as strong as it was in October.

I trained an LLM from scratch on pre-1900 text to see if it could come up with quantum mechanics and relativity.
While the model is too small to do meaningful reasoning, it has glimpses of intuition.
When given observations from past landmark experiments, the model can declare that “light is made up of definite quantities of energy” and even suggest that gravity and acceleration are locally equivalent.
I’m releasing the dataset + models and leave this as an open problem to the research community.
