Because it was rushed, it shouldn't happen this early. Even without knowing relationship of those in OG media, the pairing in this show feels like random fanfic from WattPad.
It'd make sense if it happened in later seasons with proper buildup. In season 2 - it feels like a joke.

forbidden love is a popular trope and while people are free to headcanon or draw what they want but so much of that creative expression always involved vilifying aang/katara and realistically this is the common mindset of zutara fandom for years

I think it’s because for years, romantic relationships have been seen as superior especially in media like lots of main characters disregard their friendships for romance etc so it’s actually a good thing that people are seeing past a romantic viewpoint. It’s not misogynistic

No hate to this person at ALL, but why have we entered an era where romance is seen as inherently less worthwhile than a friendship? Especially since most romances are founded upon a strong friendship (which ZK has)? Is this a misogyny thing or something else?
