We asked for half a kilo of rice.The shopkeeper gave it in a paper bag made from used newspaper tied in a jute string.I felt this practice is environment friendly, fair priced, sustainable & a resue-reduce-recycle model. It also gives local employment to people those who make it.

@novelmonk In Berhampur, even today, most of the street side eateries follow similar old-school way of serving tiffin parcels in kendu leaves & double wrapped with newspaper neatly tied with dhala (white) thread.
