@HannyahZ lol back then the internet was a skeleton of what it is now and you couldn’t just google walkthroughs. You could though buy a official game book walkthroughs for like 30$ so some people didn’t even encounter red until late in the the game when they were beyond those levels

Oh my god cheaters never played pokemon normally that they actually think you need lvl 80 team to defeat red.

If you’re genuinely against rare candies in Nuzlockes with level caps, I want you to hardcore nuzlocke HGSS right now. Go on, fight red, no healing or x items in battle. Enjoy grinding against level 30-40 wild Pokémon to get an entire team up to level 80.
