Two years later, I adopted her!

If this cat was adoptable, I would have adopted it.

@Nyx7979 @ConnorBentley__ @ABDanielleSmith Yeah. Well well might see Northern Gateway revived now. Who knows. We’re in a mess, backs against the wall, and Canadians want it fixed. I am optimistic we can!
English

@npescod @ConnorBentley__ @ABDanielleSmith True. The feds could have stepped in though and declared it in the national interest. At the same time Trudeau canceled the already approved Northern Gateway, and put a tanker ban on the west coast, so he added to the problem. KM couldn't export more if there's a new tanker ban.
English

Here’s what happened the last time a Trudeau slapped an export tax on Alberta Energy:
• unemployment quadrupled from 3.7% to 12.4% as thousands lost their jobs
• home values plummeted 30% and thousands lost their homes
• bankruptcies rose by over 150%
• tens of thousands left the province plunging us into a multi-year recession
• cost to Alberta was between $50-$100 Billion
Our government is not going to sell out Albertans to another Trudeau export tax on energy. His Dad crushed the lives of thousands in our province…we won’t let his son do it to our people again. Never.

English

@Nyx7979 @ConnorBentley__ @ABDanielleSmith If you recall, KM was all set to go and then Horgan got elected in BC and everything changed. Wouldn’t approve the permit, so that forced the feds hands.
English

@npescod @ConnorBentley__ @ABDanielleSmith The feds threw continuous roadblocks in the way until Kinder Morgan said we're out, forcing Canada to buy the pipeline overpriced, and then went over budget and way past the construction timeline. If the feds had just got out of the way, it would have been built by private funds!
English

@Nyx7979 @ConnorBentley__ @ABDanielleSmith The Federal government bought a pipeline that benefits Alberta and Canadians.
I get the issue with Energy East & NG.
Canada benefits from other industries that will be impacted by tariffs. O&G isn’t the only industry.
English

@npescod @ConnorBentley__ @ABDanielleSmith Until all the other premiers throw Alberta under the bus to save themselves. Where was the team Canada approach for Energy East or the Northern Gateway pipelines? The rest of Canada benefits from our taxes and O&G royalties, yet tie our hands behind our backs and demand more.
English

@dee_oh_gees @truthisthereal @ConnorBentley__ What are you even talking about? Oh, and fixing the border doesn’t mean the tariffs won’t come. We haven’t even begun our fight.
English

@npescod @truthisthereal @ConnorBentley__ There was no fight. He said fix the border. We could have done that and gone on with our day, but Trudeau started a fight because he knew Alberta wouldn't be on board with it. He's an asshole. He needs to go.
English

@pegger60 @truthisthereal @ConnorBentley__ There was a lot of talk during Trump’s first term about increased diversification of trading partners, and not relying on the US so much. That went away during COVID and Biden.
Now, here we are. Having to do all the things you mentioned, to hopefully avoid crushing tariffs.
English

@npescod @truthisthereal @ConnorBentley__ I agree with negotiations first and foremost; being done and border security changes being made but, a plan is reqd for worst case of which Canadian premiers (less Smith) are jointly doing. Many other premiers have met with US states separately to lobby; a dual strategy is good.
English

@truthisthereal @ConnorBentley__ The multiple trips to the US to meet with Trump’s team is public evidence that they’ve tried the latter.
I’m sure there has been plenty of private discussion.
At some point, you have to make a choice: roll over or fight back.
English

@npescod @ConnorBentley__ Now you are asking the right question why is the first option a trade war versus negotiation?
English

@ConnorBentley__ A unified approach in a time of crisis, no matter how painful, shows strength and stability to all Canadians and could result in a better outcome for all Canadians.
If Smith is protecting Albertans by taking the position she has does that mean Ford isn’t protecting Ontarians?
English

@ConnorBentley__ @ABDanielleSmith Albertans are Canadians.
The tariffs will impact all Canadians.
English

@npescod @ABDanielleSmith Eager to hear your argument! 😄
English

@ConnorBentley__ @ABDanielleSmith One could argue that by standing united with all other premiers, she is still protecting Albertans.
English

As an Ontarian, I can support Danielle’s position.
I want a united Canada, and it’s frustrating that we’ve reached this point.
However, just because Danielle didn’t align with our other leaders doesn’t mean she’s wrong or a traitor.
She’s doing what she was elected to do: protect Albertans.
How can we be surprised or upset she made these decisions?

I love how every NHL game on @TSN_Sports is blacked out for me right now. This can’t be good for the game.
