Meryl Streep Owns 2026

@CinemaTweets1 Inception is his best, not because of just leo (that’s an idiotic statement). It’s the rest of the cast, story, sound, cinematography, score, editing. It’s a flawless film.

Don’t do this to me, please. Ranking Nolan’s filmography is one of the hardest Cinema hypos I can think of right now. But I’m sticking with Inception for one reason & one reason only: Inception has Leonardo DiCaprio & The Dark Knight does not. I’ll take Inception.

@TheLOSTworld_ Had one of the best few seasons ever. The discovery of the hatch was phenomenal. Brilliant character intros and stories and amazing backgrounds etc. set a level that everyone had to set a bar higher onwards.

@CinemaTweets1 BR2049 is a masterpiece. Watching PHM on sat so I know I’ll love it but BR2049 Is an incredible piece of filmmaking.

Blade Runner 2049 is what I consider to be a visual masterpiece & one of the best films of the ‘10s. I love 2049 more than most. But with that said…I’m picking #ProjectHailMary. Maybe it’s recency bias on my part? But I think PHM is a generational film on multiple levels.

Pictured below are two of the best films I’ve ever seen in my life. Both are releasing sequels this year. Neither sequel is directed by the original film’s director. One is written by Quentin Tarantino- the other by Aaron Sorkin. I expect both to be outstanding. 2026 is on fire.

Christian Bale & Keanu Reeves each need a win right now. They’re both on cold streaks. And before you grab your pitchforks and come at me, I say this as someone who adores both of these actors. But both Bale & Reeves are better than their last few films & that’s undeniable.

Christian Bale isn’t in the same class as Leonardo DiCaprio anymore & I say that as a Bale fanatic. Bale just hasn’t given us a film like The Big Short or really anything memorable this decade. Meanwhile, Leo’s giving us the best work of his career. At least for now, it’s Leo.

Happy 58th to Anthony Michael Hall He was my teenage hero; I basically modelled my younger self on Gary from Weird Science, which probably wasn’t the smartest life choice. So how am I only now finding out this is Anthony in The Dark Knight (2008)? What else have I missed him in?
