Abolish ICE. What we’ve seen recently isn’t immigration enforcement; it’s state-sponsored terrorism. They refuse to comply with the Constitution. They assault Americans with impunity. They hide behind masks, knowing their actions are shameful. They should not exist. Immigration enforcement can be done lawfully and accountably—upholding the rights of the people—but the administration has no interest in that. They’re using the context of immigration as a pretext to sidestep constitutional limits—warrants, due process, and transparency—that protect us all from government abuses. We need immigration enforcement that respects the Constitution, not an agency that evades it.

This ruins general trust in anything and also removes wonder from real events. It's used for easy clicks and profit on fake "cute" or "entertaining" animal videos now, but rest assured, this will destroy participation in the internet by those capable of identifying fakes, it will eliminate the wonder of witnessing real behaviors and events, create a level of cynicism previously unrivaled (in a world where "pics or it didn't happen" was once the mantra), and it will enthrall those easily fooled while enabling further disassociation from reality. This technology will be abused to advance damaging and dividing narratives by generating evidence and laundering it through social media engagement to acquire the social capital to "pass" as real. Regulations are a necessity. Fuck @AMD, fuck @NVIDIA, and fuck @OpenAI for actively compelling the government to reduce regulations. This isn't a GPU that doesn't get enough frames per second in a game anymore. These companies are developing technologies more easily abused by bad actors than ever before, and they are not only ensuring nothing is done to safeguard normal people, they are actively removing existing regulatory obstructions. This is as CEOs line their pockets and encourage spend of taxpayer money to streamline the destruction of trust in what you see and hear with your own eyes.

In the current context, we are seeing an actual “short circuit” of #HumanRights. The right to freedom of expression, freedom of conscience, religious freedom, and even the right to life are being restricted in the name of other so-called new rights, with the result that the very framework of human rights is losing its vitality and creating space for force and oppression. This occurs when each right becomes self-referential, and especially when it becomes disconnected from reality, nature, and truth.

When I was a kid, the boomer motto to my generation was “just go to college. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know what you want to do, just go.” So many did just that. Most taking out huge loans and the actual % who are using their degrees are abysmally low. Now my generation is one ridden with debt, almost impossible to buy a home, and the very same generation that insisted on them doing what they did, chides them as being lazy. Then it gets worse, it’s not bad enough they call them lazy, they actively sabotage them too.

Baby Boomers won the genetic lottery in so many ways Let’s take John as an example John is born in 1945 after the most deadly war in history has already ended. In the 1960s, in his late teenage years, he gets a minimum wage job paying $1.15 per hour ($11.55 in inflation-adjusted dollars today) John, being as smart as he is, decides to contribute to social security. Throughout the rest of his working years, John remains financially savvy and invests away a portion of his paycheck. The invention of the 401K and IRA in the 70s and 90s paves his path for massive tax-savings in his portfolio. By 2008, John has built up a massive nest egg of cash and stock investments, alongside his personal residence. As the Great Financial Crisis hits, John takes full advantage and purchases an additional home as an investment property. Enter quantitative easing. For the next decade, the Federal Reserve continues to lower interest rates and stimulate economic activity. John’s stock and real estate investment portfolio skyrockets. On top of that, the home he bought back in the 1960s has nearly 15x since that time. John comfortably retires as he watches the next generation live in an economy tarnished by inflation and wealth inequality. New graduation unemployment at highest levels. Student debt is rampant. Housing remains out of reach for most He thinks to himself: “it must be because these kids didn’t make their coffees at home”

We simply CANNOT allow studios to try & shift the bar of how much GenAI use is acceptable (none) and at what development stage it is acceptable (at no stage). once we've deemed 'a little' GenAI as acceptable, that 'little' is gonna grow & expand bit by bit. Its a one way street.

It’s been a week since we announced Divinity, our next RPG, and a lot has become lost in translation. Larian’s DNA is agency. Everything we work towards is to the benefit of our teams, games, and players. A better work day, and a better game. Our successes come from empowering people to work in their own way and bring the best out of their skill & craft, so that we can make the best RPGs we can possibly make. In that context, it would be irresponsible for us not to evaluate new technologies. However, our processes are always evolving, and where they are not efficient or fail to align with who we are, we will make changes. To give you more insight, we’ll do an AMA featuring our different departments after the holiday break, in which you’ll get the opportunity to ask us any questions you have about Divinity and our dev process directly.
