@REcharpe @dmv43 @EthereanMaximus @GRDecter Google GCP Q4 of 2022, the operating loss was $480 million on revenue of $7.32 billion... Not a profit. But yes... it is SOMETIMES okay to follow, but you need a competitive reason why you can do the job better... And with Google Search, they shouldn't follow, they should lead

@nthnca @dmv43 @EthereanMaximus @GRDecter And that’s why they have to follow…leaders have always been attacked one day and if behave as a leader is a do nothing…look at Yahoo and IBM.. FYI Bing and GCP are profitable even it’s not the main part of their revenue.

@dmv43 @EthereanMaximus @GRDecter Google already uses AI at scale. Almost all of the items you have mentioned are not particularly profitable. No, you generally do not need to follow. You need a real structural competitive advantage, otherwise it is just a race to the bottom -> minimal profit margins.

@nthnca @EthereanMaximus @GRDecter Sometimes you need to follow. Chrome was not the first one and not the best one from the start, but eventually it killed competition. Same with android. Same will be with cloud. Google knows how to refine things at scale.

@EthereanMaximus @GRDecter True... but focusing on AI is the WRONG answer for search. Google is making an unforced error by following ChatGPT. They are the leader, and they should start acting like it.

@GRDecter Unpopular opinion right now. Google will continue to dominate search and Bing will continue to be an also ran. Google will work out the kinks and average joe blow won't notice a thing. Definitely a buyer of google if it continues to tank.

@escobaro33 @abacaj This is an unforced error on Google's part. AI is the wrong tool for search. Google is following the pack out of fear, instead of leading the pack with confidence.

@abacaj Glad Microsoft are involved as Google are acting like they are being forced to show their hand when they clearly don't really want to

Microsoft up, Google down... the Bard demo flopped, I was hoping for google to pull through on Bard given their impressive research contributions

@abacaj Google needs to split into separate companies. They are too big. Too slow. Too docile. They need to learn to focus. AI is NOT the answer for search. It is the answer for a pile of other products. NOT search. They are making an unforced error. twitter.com/nthnca/status/…

@SteefBrandsma @Yannick_Veys Preferably with something that adds value or interesting. Add something to the conversation, give them or others a reason to engage with you. But sometimes a simple, "hey, thanks", will get people to at least notice you exist and maybe be more likely to reply to a future comment

A great way to grow on Twitter if you have less than 500 followers: Comment on other people's tweets until you reach 20+ notifications. Check who interacted with you. Keep hitting new people & stick to people who interact back.

@Suhail DuckDuckGo? It seems weird to think of these AI chatbots being used for search, I want them in Google Home, Docs, Gmail, Chat, Meet, GCP... almost everywhere, but search??? I am waiting to be convinced.

@SDinesh91 @LBacaj Pay cuts will be permanent. Sure eventually salaries will go back up, but they won't get back to the levels they would have been at. Not sure what you mean by "more likely they will take"... I don't think you usually get a choice. Take the pay cut or quit. No severance.

@nthnca @LBacaj I agree with the uncertainty part. A bigger question is how long the pay cuts will last. Isn't it more likely that people will take pay cuts rather than find a new job, given the current situation?

@SDinesh91 @LBacaj Unclear... but pay cuts are possibly more sticky. Many tech workers who get laid off, find a new job pretty quickly - often before the severance pay runs out. (Don't know if this is true at the moment.) The pay cuts are not likely to get reversed nearly as quickly.

@LBacaj This came as a surprise to me. But I think pay cut is better than layoffs.

@GRDecter Why would it get better??? It already has 100 years of financial data to learn from.

Theoretically, AIEQ should get better at beating the market over time as it learns and improves. Will it beat the market this year? I'll keep an eye out and let you know

Thank you @MikeWingerii I really enjoy your thoughtful videos. And as someone who used to be a Mormon, I'm glad you don't pull punches in how you talk about Christianity.

Trying to understand this, #NHLFlames have the second highest probability of winning the Stanley Cup according to @MoneyPuckdotcom. Maybe the stats are showing something that I am not seeing...

Solution create 2 new fields: 1. "Created" (Function). Its value is -> prop("Date Override") ? prop("Date Override") : prop("Created Date") 2. "Override Create" (Date). Only set value when you want to override creation date. Now use "Created" as creation date.

If I'm reading these stats right, @jonnyhuby11: +/- of 0 over first 10 games. +/- of 7 over second 10 games. Hoping for a +/- of 14 over third 10 games! Go Flames!

I like Hypefury better than Tweethunter for Twitter. It's such a great experience when a company offers a freemium version to customers to try out the product. My pet peeve is a 7 days trial & upfront credit card details.

@sankalpdomore Nah, using lots more than just the auto-retweeter. Retweet-deleter, instagram integration, queue, a few other things. Still learning though.
