It’s only different because what’s a child supposed to do about that. Especially one who was raised in a “secondary economy” of the US that we have allowed to thrive. Civic ideals are not taught there. Most authority figures are doing illegal things casually all day - not saying drugs and murder, just being there and taking advantage of the system being the norm that the child is raised under. We would be doing harm to someone (the child brought here at 6 months or whatever) who didn’t choose their circumstances/we kind of just allowed this dirt baggery for decades. Wouldn’t be such a big deal to put those “late anchor babies”at the top of the list for citizenship applications if they meet all the criteria. But this is an edge case, we are speaking on the scale of thousands to 10 thousands - and if you take out those that committed fraud it becomes even less - against a minimum of 10 million illegals. No earnest person on the right would hold back a decision to remove 98% of illegals and spend a little money digging into these edge cases while the bulk of the deportation is occurring. The collapse of those illegal neighborhoods and economic structures would solve most of the problems naturally.

Joe Rogan said the quiet part out loud. A man brought here as a baby. Lived in the US for 20 years. Can’t speak Spanish. No criminal record. Deported anyway. That’s not border security. That’s ripping someone out of the only country they’ve ever known and dropping them somewhere that was never their home. When Joe Rogan starts saying this, the politics have shifted.
