My Journey in the Family Business : Six Months In Phase 1 : Diving In and Making Sense of the Chaos 1. Six months ago, I joined my dad's business, diving into a world vastly different from my computer science background. Our company specialises in instrumentation, automation, and electrical solutions. 2. My first project involved implementing an HRMS to streamline HR, expense, and payroll processes. This initiative not only improved efficiency but also allowed me to connect with everyone in the company. Training the team helped me understand our daily operations and underscored the importance of technology in enhancing business processes. 3.Following this, I visited each department to gain a thorough understanding of our products and services. Phase 2: Field Visits & Manufacturing Processes To truly grasp our business, I joined our sales team on different field visits - Cement Plant in Kota, Textile Industries in Bhilwara, Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC) and Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) in Rawatbhata. Realising that our company plays a crucial role in essential industries like cement, power, water, oil, gas, and wastewater was fascinating and has motivated me even more to contribute to our work. These visits gave me valuable insights into the sales and procurement processes at these plants and allowed me to see firsthand how our products integrate into larger systems. Phase 3: Next steps I plan to conduct more industry visits, network with professionals in manufacturing, enhance my technical knowledge of the business, and upgrade our ERP software to streamline the entire manufacturing supply chain process. I look forward to any tips or suggestions on how to better navigate this journey and connect with more people.❤️

Imagine this is a 20 kVA / 32 kWh green backup system today! Looks aesthetic, charges from solar, switches in under 4 ms, and is perfect for areas facing 1 - 3 hours of daily power cuts.

Summer’s almost here - and with it, the longest grid cuts of the year. Lead acid batteries degrade fast in heat, need replacement every 3-5 years, and DG sets burn through diesel when you can least afford it. LFP batteries last 8-10 years and handle heat far better. Pair them with rooftop solar and your essentials run through any cut. The season’s a good time to audit what you’re running on.

ionsenergy.com is live. A year of projects, clients, systems running - now we finally have a website. Solar, BESS, panels, EMS - residential, commercial, industrial. Rentals too. The Ministry of Power just proposed mandatory BESS for 500kW+ solar prosumers. October 2026. BESS is not backup. It's primary infrastructure. Taking on new projects. Share your details, we'll analyse your system. anushka.singhal@ieepl.com calendly.com/indexel/30min

Today is exactly 2 years since I joined my family business. It's still rare. A woman stepping into a company her parents spent 20 years building , not as support staff, not in the background, but to lead, build, and take it forward. The questions haven't gone away. "Don't you have brothers?" "What will happen once you get married?" I'm still figuring out how to answer them. So I just keep going. In two years, I got my own clients. Launched Ions Energy, our renewable energy vertical. Entered manufacturing, spent time on factory floors, and built BESS and solar projects across India. What's kept me going is the people I've met along the way -women and men , who were genuinely proud to see a woman running the show at a family business. Those moments mattered more than they know. And the young girls who saw something in this journey and joined their family businesses too. That is the only impact that matters. This Women's Day, I really hope more women step into their family businesses and carry forward what their parents spent a lifetime building. It is a beautiful legacy. And it needs you. 🌸

There’s no shortcut for sales. I’ve cold called. Cold emailed. Tried everything. All of it helps , but the best results always come from one thing. Door to door. Show up. In person. Every time.

I am hiring an Energy Systems Engineer who gets excited about how energy actually flows. The work includes: • Analysis of electricity bills and load profiles • System sizing (kW, kWh, peak demand) • Integration of solar, battery, and inverter/PCS • Grid, DG, and changeover logic • Using software and AI tools to speed up analysis and design We’re working towards power that’s cheaper, cleaner, and smarter for businesses. If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, let’s talk. anushka.singhal@ieepl.com

“There’s no innovation in manufacturing - you’re just making the same product.” What’s often overlooked: even a small physical MVP costs lakhs - machines, tooling, testing, inventory. Then comes vendors, yields, QA, cash flow, downtime, logistics - every single day. Consistency is the real innovation. That’s why manufacturing is hard and valuable.

This bungalow is now a live example: No diesel generator! Only a BESS providing backup, charged by solar. Progress toward the mission of converting all residential units to clean storage.
