Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel: “You can’t even get on to beating the opponent if you’re beating yourself.”

The worst part about defending Tua with all these advanced stats for 5 years is that illiterate morons who only half watch the games while doomscrolling and drinking 10 miller lights had better insight than the rest of us. The nerds lose again. #Dolphins

@AshleyWenskTV you should do a piece on women in sports officiating for high school - we desperately need people to join us for flag and tackle football!

@SiClancy He’s had good games against good opponents. 2022 Ravens. 2023 Cowboys. 2023 Chargers. 2024 Rams.
But I don’t have the energy for this debate anymore - there’s just too much shitting bed and I’m tired of washing the sheets 💩 🧼

@desena_tyler Except we can never have nice things so I have no doubt Chop will suffer some devastating injury in one of these final three meaningless games.
But man, imagine if our starting rotation is Chop, JP, Seiler, and Chubb. So sexy. Might finally be enough to lasso the Bills

Tua, literally immediately after this clip stops:
"You really start to see the guys that want to be in the locker room, the guys that want to play for each other -- and I think that's the guys we have in our locker room"
Not sure if you're trolling but this is disingenuous

Tua on where the team should go from here in his post game press conference: “Let’s go plan our trip to Cabo or Mexico” Wow.

@Hotstover Same! Been defending him his entire career from mouth breathing rabid haters. Can’t defend this dogshit today.
This performance is Exhibit 1 in why completion percentage is a meaningless statistic these days. 73% completed with 4 turnovers on some awful throws against pressure.
English

@ckparrot This might be the best written thing I’ve read on this app….. maybe ever?
If McDaniel has served his purpose, it really posses me off that it cost us our shot at Harbaugh. But if it had to be done to save Tua’s career, I guess I can live with that…

I truly believe this offensive build for Miami is over. It was a moment in time, perhaps even a necessary one, when the question was how do we rehab a top 5 pick QB who just survived an all out civil war with a Head Coach who actively worked against him.
It’s not the same Tua anymore. You succeeded. You rebuilt him. You proved to HIM and to the whole league that he can play.
But what you forgot to do was build a TEAM. You forgot to build a WINNER that could handle being untracked in tough circumstances.
You don’t need smurf receivers anymore. You don’t need a dogmatic rushing attack that has the same boom/bust characteristics as a passing game.
You DO need an offensive line.
You DO need to be able to sit back there longer than 2 seconds, and it’s not always going to be your choice as to when you need that.
You DO need to be able to rely on the physicality of your receivers the way Tua has relied on Jonnu Smith for that most of the year.
You DO need to play offense in a way that is not a flat out embarrassment any time your QB is dinged up.
You DO need to have guys out of the huddle and up at the line of scrimmage in time to actually make adjustments if they’re needed.
You DO need those timeouts.
You DO need a play caller who isn’t frozen in the moment dealing with all of the things a head coach has to deal with during a game.
And this point the idiosyncratic drawbacks of this offensive build are hurting Miami more than helping.
They’re able to look GREAT when they are afforded the opportunity to look GOOD. But they look BAD when presented with any unfavorable circumstances.
That is not a tenable dynamic for a football team to weather the increasingly long, increasingly tumultuous throes of an NFL football season.

@JKudon 5 years?!? I don’t think we’ve had a legit OL in this ENTIRE CENTURY! Maybe that one season of wildcat? Maybe?
English

The #Dolphins are such a poorly constructed team. Offensive line has been a weakness for 5 years; secondary was once elite, now it’s among the worst in the league and special teams is comically bad
