Sophie Cunningham is a Christian and she will not denounce Trump. She got baptized as an adult earlier this year of her own choice. When reporters push her on Trump, she refuses to take the easy, popular shot that every other WNBA player seems eager to take. In a league and a culture where bashing him is the path of least resistance, she simply does not do it. That consistency matters. She is not performing for approval. She is a patriot who will not apologize for what she believes.
