My Gen Z cousin told me he spent $5K for spring break (flights, hotel, drinks etc.). I would drive to a beach, 6 of us in one car, all share the same hotel room, eat ramen, and go to the club before 11 so entry was free.

I actually don't understand how people raise kids with both parents in full time jobs.
I don't mean that I spiritually don't get it, I mean that I cannot picture how it's physically/logistically done.
Interestingly, I don't know anyone actually doing this!

Random thought, and I know these infuriate most people and risks coming off as “out of touch” or unrealistic… …but I continue to be perplexed how anyone can still be working a traditional white collar job after a certain point.. for example after having kids.. after turning 30, 35, 40.. after experiencing personal loss or health issues.. there are really so many low bars to trigger reprioritizing of your life. I can’t fathom waking up and doing the same job everyday, let alone physically transporting myself to the same place. Frankly I can’t fathom working every single day either anymore. I have to work in sprints and bursts.
