Curious how the 2024 monsoon is affecting streamflow? Check out these hydrographs from two sites in southeast Arizona. Notice how quickly these watercourses rise and fall. Given the nature of monsoon thunderstorms, forecasting these rises proves to be a perennial challenge! #azwx

Yesterday, CBRFC staff met with Central Utah Water Conservancy District employees and discussed ways to better serve water consumers. Site visits were made to Upper Stillwater, Starvation, and Strawberry reservoirs, pictured below. All of these reservoirs are full at the moment!

High temperatures for most of Utah will range from the 90s-100s Wednesday and again Thursday. Stay hydrated, wear light colored clothing, and take breaks, especially if working or recreating outdoors! #utwx

@WondrBread There are many factors that influence streamflow into Lake Powell. Snowpack is the biggest driving factor, but antecedent soil moisture conditions, temperatures, and other factors can play a role in how efficient that snowmelt appears as runoff at Lake Powell.

@WondrBread Precipitation across the area that contributes runoff to Lake Powell was around 97% of normal. We'll be publishing an updated forecast this week, but our most recent forecast called for 80% of normal seasonal inflow to Lake Powell.....

Lake Powell has received 71% of normal inflow for June 3rd. Last year at this time it had received nearly double the normal amount. Stay tuned for our updated seasonal inflow forecast later this week! #LakePowell #utwx #cowx #coloradoriver

Runoff is in full force up Little Cottonwood Canyon. The creek is forecast to reach it’s highest level at 120% of normal on 6/8. Exercise caution near rivers as many are running fast and are very cold. #utwx
