It is cold out there ❄️🥶   Freezing temperatures can create challenges for FDNY operations. Frozen hydrants are a huge concern. When we’ve got consecutive days of severe cold, the FDNY thawing apparatus is deployed to help keep water flowing.    Let’s get to work!

As Fire Prevention Week ends, do YOU know where your EXITS are? 🚨 Exit signs have evolved - NYC now uses the "Little Green Running Man" designed by Yukio Ota in the 1970s. You'll see these GREEN signs in Penn Station & Grand Central Terminal. Always know your exits! 🚪✅

“The museum opened in 1987 and operates out of an historic, 120-year-old firehouse once used by Engine Co. 30. It features 30,000 artifacts stretching back to the days of the bucket brigade, along with a memorial to the 343 NYC firefighters killed in the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.”
