Sealing success with a medal! A new chapter begins at the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) as we mark a change of guard in leadership. At the AAK AGM Gala Dinner, Arch. Florence Nyole officially handed over the presidential leadership to Arch. George Arabbu. We extend our deepest gratitude to Arch. Nyole for her visionary leadership, dedication, and transformative contributions during her tenure. Under her stewardship, AAK strengthened its strategic direction and championed key industry initiatives. As Arch. George Arabbu takes the helm, we look forward to building on this strong foundation, advancing the profession, and driving impactful change in the built environment. Karibu President!

I want to sincerely thank the Executive Committee, the Chapter Reps, @AAKCoop_Sacco, @jbcckenya and Secretariat for a wonderful and seamless working relationship during this leadership session. Together, we did #ElevateAAK. Asanteni. #aak_eng #aak_edc

The last meeting, held a month ago, we worked on AAK's #StrategicPlan 2025-2030, having had a good grip on matters that need focus and established #AAKEnterprises. This will now be progressively developed in the next session with engagement of our members and stakeholders.

Today was my last full day serving as President of @arch_ke. I have had the pleasure of working with a collaborative Governing Council, chairing the monthly meetings for the 2-year session where we collectively achieved a lot for our members, Chapters, and the Built Environment.

My #FinalAct as president of @arch_ke ahead of AGM was this afternoon, when we paid a courtesy call to President @FaithOdhiambo8 of the @LawSocietyofKe. Our meeting focused on the recent deployment of the #LegalChecklistforCities

We also looked at joint training and enhancement of our regulatory framework towards self-regulation. The meeting signified the start of a collaboration leveraging technical capabilities to enhance best practices as guided by law in Kenya's construction industry. #ElevateAAK

We discussed the need for improved legal awareness and compliance within the built environment, strengthened advocacy for legal reforms for sustainable urban development given the need for legal redress on planning, zoning and compliance currently facing our urban areas.

We affirm the fundamental role of Mathematics in a holistic education and its significance for career readiness, especially in the Built Environment professions, as detailed in our press statement. @Arch_KE will work on masterplans in response to CBC requirements as we jointly carry out mentorship, grow trees for construction creating outdoor learning spaces and nutrition from fruit trees all the while increasing the much needed tree cover across Kenya. #ElevateAAK

One last MoU as President of @Arch_KE. This morning, we signed and MoU with @isk_kenya to establish a collaboration for our #GrowAClassroom Initiative to map out location of public schools, determine boundaries, and create a database. #ElevateAAK
