@MightyApe I placed an order last week, half of which you don’t appear to have sent yet. No comms, no replies to support tickets, nothing. I’m guessing it’s missed Christmas now. Do you have a number I can call to get an update?

@2degreesmobile Just realised we were never notified of what we won in your “million dollar prize draw” after signing up. How do we find out?

@markcubey @elle_hunt Labour introduced one by stealth when they changed the Bright Line Test from being about flippers (buying and selling within 2 years) to most people (buying and selling within 10 years, and likely to keep increasing). National simply restoring its intent.

New Zealand votes rejects Labour and bring back the National party: opening the gates to no-fault evictions, foreign property investment, lower capital gains taxes, ditching welfare reforms and rail, more cars and roads and escalations in the culture war. Dismal stuff

@lightweight @radionz @ninetonoon “Corporate booster”?! Anyway, the 2.3% size of Mastodon vs Twitter is the reality. Nothing wrong with Mastodon at all, but you can’t expect an org to be on every platform and if choosing between two, they’re always going to start with the one with 43x the number of users.

@nzPaulM @radionz @ninetonoon You might want to have a look, Paul. I'd say the Fediverse is more vibrant & authentic than Twitter by far... That it exists at all & has millions of participants should make you & every corporate booster pause for thought, given that it's had approx zero $ put into it.

@radionz and @ninetonoon - you spend a lot of time telling us about 'Big tech'. You haven't yet, to my knowledge (and I listen a LOT) really acknowledge 'community tech', i.e. Free and Open Source Software. You're also not present in a meaningful way in the emerging Fediverse 1/2

@radionz @ninetonoon I would've contacted you via Mastodon - there're a bunch of long-running servers here in Aotearoa and the participation numbers are burgeoning - but you're not there. As our national media organisation, the voice of our society, that strikes me as a glaring omission.

@4crosspurposes I could be wrong but I really don’t think the PM’s gender is relevant - it’s culpability. There is very genuine anger out there. This dairy tried to get help and was turned down by the govt, and as a direct result, a young person is dead. JA is leader of the govt.

The media gang-up on Ardern over the tragic death of the dairy worker smacks of year 10 boys finding a female they can bully. How do women in the media tolerate being part of this ugly lynch-mob mentality?

@elonmusk @StephenKing Just keep doing what you’re doing. Twitter had become the home of constant outrage, so it makes sense there’ll be some outrage over change. Ride it out.

Am in Dunedin today to sadly attend the funeral of someone I hugely respect, Lesley Elliott. Being White Ribbon Day, I urge you to download Lesley’s book about keeping relationships safe, and getting it to as many young people as possible. It’s free: amazon.com/Loves-Me-Not-K…

@NoahWayOut @ClaySmith1984 @heydari_be No, they need to grow *engagement* and *active users*. No point having millions of dead unused accounts. I suspect the number who log in every day has grown since Elon took over

@RebelSport_NZ Parcels were from you, and your team appears to have got them out to the courier fast. You should seriously consider reviewing your delivery partners. Looking at the tracking, one is over a week from Wellington CBD to Lower Hutt. Others from Auckland, same delay.

Fascinating! Even with the tyranny of distance, my last parcel sent from the US got here faster than 3 parcels coming from Auckland via @Aramex NZ. Halfway around the world vs between NZ cities. One big advantage local e-commerce should have is speed. We fail that at our peril.

One of the most grave human rights problems confronting Aotearoa New Zealand is the tsunami of toxic misinformation and disinformation threatening respectful, evidence-informed, discussion which is the life blood of our democratic society.

@BenRoss_AKL @economicsNZ Well no, he has a mandate to try to achieve what he said he was going to try to achieve during the campaign, which is what people elected him to achieve. Agree that he doesn’t have unilateral powers on most things though, and will need to build consensus.
