In today’s Vatnik Soup, I’ll introduce how the Elon’s Election Interference Machine™ (EIM) works. Since Musk & his broligarch allies won the presidency for Trump, they’ve now harnessed the machine to interfere in European elections, including the ones in Germany & Romania. 1/23

I still can’t believe EV owners tolerate spending an hour at a charging station to fill up their tanks when an ICE can do it in 2-3 minutes.

@mattwensing Seriously though, yeah, it's Work™ to maintain those groups. And women are expected to do that, if I may generalize. A couple of worlds-colliding mixer events have gone a long way toward maintaining healthy intersecting groups. (See also: LAN parties with the guys.)

My wife has multiple groups of female friends that all know each other and hang out on the regular. Zero of my guy friends know each other. Just me?

@_emschwartz @rustlang Rewriting a multitenant proxy doing a couple billion req/day from Netty into Hyper. I have a typical Tokio work stealing implementation going. But very curious about the ergonomics from the perspective of training and handing off to teammates before it’s fully baked!

Just published a blog post I've been working on for a little while: "Async Rust can be a pleasure to work with (without Send + Sync + 'static)" TL;DR: async @rustlang is actually pleasant to use with structured concurrency and thread-per-core runtimes emschwartz.me/async-rust-can…

Let's say your GraphDog bill is $1m a year. Would you spend $800k/year to reduce that to $100k/year, effectively saving yourself 10%?

@leenyburger I have a solution for this that very annoyingly a "do it the hard way" approach. Annoying to explain over Twitter anyway, ask me next time we hang out in person 😆

I *hate* updating my mac OS because there are always unforeseen issues with Ruby/Xcode tools/terminal/whatever. Is there a good forum or website for Rails developers that lists known issues or can give me an all clear for the latest OS?

How to choose the best tool for starting a new project: 1. Toss a coin 2. While the coin is in the air, realize that the tool doesn't matter: what you are experiencing is Resistance 3. Find your courage, ignore the consequence of success, and start, 4. And start, again and again

@kmx Aw, congrats you two. And such lovely vows. Did y'all use traditional generative models to write them, or did you train your own?

There are all these attempts at fancy Rust databases, and all I really want is a sqlite wrapper that pretends to store structs via serialize_json or whatever.

@Audrey_Sage_ Rust is the first language in a long time that has made me a better programmer, plus it's a joy to use, especially when it starts to click.
