There is a Bill in Parliament right now by Murugara and JLAC, i.e., Criminal Procedure Code (Amendment) Bill, 2026, and most Kenyans have NO idea what’s inside. It creates a powerful, dangerous Criminal Procedure Rules Committee (see pages 19-20 of the Bill). Who sits in it? Chief Justice, AG(executive), Police IG, DPP, Commisioner prisons, EACC & others. And what will they do? They will make rules that courts must follow in criminal cases (p.19-20). Not laws passed by Parliament. Rules. And these rules can influence things like: Bail, bond terms, and much more How cases are handled in court How fast or slow cases move Now imagine this: You protest against Ruto. You get arrested. And Bail? Suddenly KSh 3M or more And your Case? It drags for months, etc. All “within procedure or these new rules that will keep changing.” No law changed, just the rules. And you had ZERO say in those rules. It gets worse. The Bill allows courts to declare you mentally unfit if you can’t understand proceedings or instruct a lawyer (p.8-10). Then you can be detained in a mental facility for 14 days, extendable up to 6 months (p.12). No conviction. Just procedure. Ask yourself: In a country where critics are already targeted, what could go wrong? Yes, there are several good parts in the bill: The ODPP must now seek court approval before dropping a case (p.6). But let’s be honest: This Bill gives the system cleaner, more structured ways for the government to control outcomes. Very neat on paper. Very dangerous in the wrong hands. Read it. Don’t ignore it.

Gladys Shollei is pushing a dangerous amendment, and Kenyans should pay attention. Yesterday, during a debate on the Public Participation Bill, she proposed removing a key safeguard: the requirement to publish public participation outcomes. Right now, Section 12(2) requires that once public participation is done, the results be made public, for example, on a website, so citizens can see what Kenyans actually said. Her proposal? Remove it completely or Keep that information private. If you want it, you must apply to the same authority that collected it. Let me be honest, we already know how this ends. We have been requesting NHIF, Housing levy, and capitation data for over 6 months. Letters sent to MOH and MOE. No response. Total silence. We are now heading to court soon. Now imagine this: A bad bill is rejected by Kenyans during public participation. The authority then claims: “Kenyans supported it.” How do you verify? You write to them, and they ignore you. That’s the trap. This amendment would legalize secrecy and make it impossible to hold the government accountable. Public participation without transparency is just a rubber stamp. MPs must reject this amendment. Kenyans deserve a public portal where participation outcomes are visible, verifiable, and permanent. Enough hiding. Article 35 on access to information is becoming ceremonial, and soon, we will prove that in court.

Wueeeh this was tough one My knee injury almost took me out 🥹 Had to stop at a medical tent for 5 minutes to get a massage at km 44 . They wanted to call for me an ambulance but I said not today 😮‍💨. What a beautiful route though . Grateful to God for helping me get to the finish line . Lesson for the day ; don’t show up on race day with an imminent injury 😮‍💨

In 2021: ~KSh 169 Today: 260+ But here’s the real trick 👇 They didn’t just raise prices. They reduced what you get. Now you’re seeing a new 6 Smokies pack going for ~KSh 130. And your brain says, “That’s affordable.” But not long ago, 12 smokies were around that same price. Same money. Half the food. This is how they beat you psychologically. You don’t even realise you’re losing. And watch, that “small pack” will quietly hit KSh 170 soon. This isn’t just inflation. It’s a slow economic suffocation of the people. Anyway, from a health angle, maybe it’s not the worst thing. These things aren’t exactly something you should eat daily. The sodium nitrite and metabisulfite shouldn't be consumed daily.

Your Excellency, allow us to comment on this post in which we are of the view that it has missed a few important chapters of international law: 1. Aggression originates from the U.S. and the Israeli regime use of regional water, air and land territories: Based on Article 3(f) of the UN General Assembly Resolution 3314 (XXIX) (Definition of Aggression, 14 December 1974), “The action of a State in allowing its territory, which it has placed at the disposal of another State, to be used by that other State for perpetrating an act of aggression against a third State” constitutes aggression. For months, we had warned neighboring countries—particularly those along the Persian Gulf—that any aggression from their soil against Iran would be met with our inherent right to self‑defense. Despite their denials, numerous attacks against Iran have been launched from U.S. bases in these countries, a small example being the downing of three military aircraft in Kuwait. 2. Violation of Article 2(4) of the UN Charter: The United States and the Israeli regime have violated Article 2(4) , which requires all Members to “refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state.” Their military aggression against Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity is the root cause of the current crisis. 3. Iran’s response is lawful, legitimate self‑defense: Our response has been strictly in exercise of our inherent right to self‑defense, consistent with international law and the principles of proportionality, necessity, and discrimination. Operations have targeted only military bases and assets of the aggressors. After these military installations were struck, enemy military personnel and forces fled into hotels and civilian centers, taking innocent civilians as hostages—a gross violation of the law of armed conflict. 4. The Strait of Hormuz: prior freedom of navigation & current restrictions: Before the U.S.‑Israeli regime military aggression against Iran’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, the Strait of Hormuz was open to all countries. Any current disruption to Persian Gulf security or maritime traffic is a direct consequence of that aggression, and full responsibility lies with the aggressors. As the coastal state, Iran has introduced necessary restrictions to ensure safe passage. Vessels belonging to non‑belligerent countries may conduct innocent passage in coordination with Iran. Clearly, vessels of belligerent parties—especially the U.S. and the terrorist Israeli regime, as well as those serving their interests—cannot use this waterway. 5. Call on all free and independent nations: The Islamic Republic of Iran expects all free and independent nations to stand on the right side of history and condemn the aggressors. We reaffirm our readiness for diplomatic solutions based on mutual respect and international law, but will not hesitate to defend our sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security. Thank you Excellency for paying due consideration the the above facts.
