The chances of a cyclonic tropical low developing in the 2nd week of December over the northern the Coral sea are increasing on the latest Euro model 100+ member ensemble. Sea surface temperatures in that area are 1° to 2°c above average, currently between 29°c & 31°c.

pterygium = harmless, wedge-shaped growth of tissue on the cornea that can slowly extend, often caused by too much sun or wind exposure.

9 days away from the start of cyclone season. With the support of @global_respond, the MOH🇻🇺 is conducting EMT provincial training this week, onboard MV HELPR-1. As part of preparedness, this strengthens the provincial capability and capacity to lead and respond locally.

Conducting EMT (Emergency Medical Teams) training for SHEFA Province, Vanuatu, this week. Our clinicians are familliar with responding to disasters but this training further enhances their knowledge and skills and will greatly benefit the overall MoH disaster prep & response.

A boat with 4 men drowned yesterday. Only 2 swam ashore, over more than 6hrs. 2 are still missing. 😔 Despite weather warning over the radio, they set sail. This is also why traditional skills in reading and understanding weather patterns is important.
