While we on a road trip together, babe and I were having a conversation about the possibilities of what could happen if there were tunnels on Nigerian roads. Darkness is of course very expected because, obviously there won't be electricity to power the light bulbs. There is also a chance of the tunnels turning into a home for destitutes, beggars and some random mad people. Some egbon adugbo may also be collecting omo onile tax from road users. Few weeks ago while I was in Ibadan, I went to the Iwo Road bus terminal that built by Gov Makinde, and I wasn't very happy with what our people have turned the structures into. I saw agberos and many homeless people sleeping on the floor inside the buildings that were meant to be serving as the waiting areas for passengers. I saw people urinating at every corners at the bus terminal. I saw heaps of refuse wastes all over various spots. All sorts of alcoholic drinks were being sold at the motor park. You know those that are buying these ogogoro, right? The bus drivers! It is always very easy to blame the government for everything that isn't working well in Nigeria, forgetting that we all have a responsibility too as a people. When government makes a provision of an infrastructure, the onus is on us as a people to use the infrastructure for the purpose it is meant for. Its maintenance is our joint responsibility too. We still have a very long way to go in Nigeria. Many of us have always asked this question that when will we ever get it right as a nation, but I think the answer isn't far-fetched. When we start practicing responsible citizenship, then our country will have a chance of getting better. Mecca is beautiful because the people there are taking good care of the city, not because some imaginary angels are sweeping the city for the Saudis.

If you have some loose cash you don't have any need of, please buy gold with that money. Gold is a "mahd" store of value. Few weeks ago while I was in Nigeria, one of my big aunties whom I visited showed me a gold jewellery she wanted to sell. A mallam has already offered her ₦13m while another person is offering her ₦16m, but she was thinking of taking it along with her to Dubai to sell when she goes for her regular vacation, perhaps she she can even get a higher offer in the UAE since she bought it from there in the first place. It was just a little above ₦2m that she paid for the same jewelry when she bought it in Dubai some few years back. I was just saying ọmọ ọmọ while my head was steaming. Folks, please start buying gold o.

"How did men learn to communicate with animals?" I remember asking myself this question in the Moroccan desert when I saw the Arabs controlling the camels. See an African dairy farmer from Rwanda controlling cows that don't belong to him in Switzerland

How did these people learnt how to command camels with ordinary whispers or short sentences?
