The Office of the Prime Minister is lying to the public.
Downing Street told the British public that the IMF upgraded Britain's growth forecast. That is false. The IMF did no such thing. What actually happened: the UK received the largest growth downgrade of any G7 nation. The sole revision a nudge from 0.8% to 1% for 2026 only occurred because the baseline was already so catastrophically low that a dead cat would have bounced higher.
This is not politics as usual. This is a deliberate fabrication presented as fact, and the machinery of state is now so corroded that no one in power even bothers to pretend otherwise. Parliament sits silent. The press parrots the lie. The institutions meant to restrain power now hold the doors open while it loots the place.
What remains is not governance. It is a kleptocracy of narrative where truth is whatever Downing Street decides it is this morning, and tomorrow it will be something else entirely. The public is not being served. The public is being conned, openly, repeatedly, and without consequence.
That is not a system malfunctioning. That is a system working exactly as designed.

UK Prime Minister@10DowningStreet
Last week’s strong growth figures show that this government has the right economic plan. Today, the IMF has upgraded the UK’s growth forecast. We are building a stronger, fairer Britain.

The current MP for Makerfield, @joshsimonsmp, has served just two years. He's now standing down, not because he wants to, not because his constituents asked him to, but to hand Andy Burnham a safe Labour seat. A great betrayal to those who elected him and proof that he never cared for them in the first place.
A by-election to replace Simons will cost taxpayers approximately £250,000.
Then Manchester will need a new Mayor = Another election.
Another £4 million of public money. £4.25 million of taxpayer cash so the Labour party can play musical chairs with safe seats and install their preferred candidate without him having to fight for it.
This is the party that lectures us about public spending. This is career politics at its most cynical. No mandate. No principle. Just the establishment looking after its own.
Reform exists because of exactly this. 🩵
@AndyBurnham the biggest fraud in Politics. Mr….I love being Mayor. It’s the best job in the world….
Don’t let this man who is costing us so much back in to cost us even more. Send him and @UKLabour a strong message.
Britain needs @reformparty_uk #Makerfield #ReformUK

@Keir_Starmer @ShabanaMahmood A simple question for you, @UKLabour and the Met.
Why are you lying?
You all say you are committed to confronting anti-Semitism and yet you let these hate marches proceed and the haters spew their bile!!
Words, that's all you have.

Country before party should ALWAYS be the case, but it's not happening now is it!
Rupert Lowe MP@RupertLowe10
It is with a heavy heart I have decided not to contest Dudley North as a Brexit Party candidate. I am putting country before party as it is highly conceivable my candidacy could allow Corbyn’s Momentum candidate to win. They are simply not fit to govern.

Andy has spent a decade taking the credit for all good news in Greater Manchester, and blaming others for the bad news.
He has achieved nothing. NOTHING.
He promised to eradicate rough sleeping in 3 years - huge fail.
He gave us yellow buses and cheaper tickets - tickets subsidised by central government for 3 years, then what? Council tax has increased to contribute to this scheme. Plus, now the buses are political, we are seeing lots of strikes.
He has ignored the grooming gangs and created a cover up report.
The police went into special measures under his watch for ignoring 130k crimes.
But his PR team are top notch and that’s what really matters when you are dealing with a nation of fools.

Quite the intervention from Jonathan Hinder, the Labour MP for Pender and Clitheroe, on Wes Streeting and Andy Burnham calling for Britain to rejoin the EU
'We are just over a week after we took a real beating in our working-class heartlands
'It’s a very long list - we’re talking about the Hartlepools, the Grimsbys, Barnsley, places like Wigan, where this by-election is going to be, and we were losing to a party which until recently was called the Brexit Party
'And to suggest the solution now is for us to reopen that debate is just staggering, and the Labour Party is in an existential crisis, it really is, and the idea that we can reconnect to our working-class base by reopening this debate is just a staggering level of out of touch.'

To all the Tommy Robinson supporters around the world...
This is Nick Lowles, the leader of the radical left-wing group Hope Not Hate. He is one of the primary individuals who has been relentlessly hunting Tommy Robinson and his supporters for years.
He collaborates with the UK police, using his extremist organization to try and destroy conservatives, torment them, smear them, and have them arrested.
Instead of stopping this man from terrorizing citizens, the police seem to be working with him to inflict the maximum amount of torment on Tommy and his family.
P.S. Nick Lowles, don't even waste your time targeting me again. I laugh at every one of your pathetic attempts.

An Irish woman of a certain age went to see her doctor and asked if there was anything he could prescribe to help revive her husband’s love life.
“Have you tried Viagra?” the doctor asked.
“Not a hope,” she replied. “The man won’t even take a paracetamol.”
“No problem,” said the doctor. “Try what we call ‘Irish Viagra.’ Slip a tablet into his coffee. He’ll never notice it. Give it a go and ring me next week to let me know how you get on.”
Well, she didn’t even last the week before calling him back.
“Doctor!” she cried. “Faith and begorrah, it was awful! Absolutely terrible!”
“Really?” the doctor asked. “What happened?”
“Well, I did exactly what you said and dropped the tablet into his coffee. The effect was nearly instant. He leapt to his feet with a wild sparkle in his eye and his trousers bulging like a circus tent!”
The doctor said, “Good heavens.”
“Before I knew it, he swept the cups clean off the table, tore me clothes clean off me back, and took me there and then, right on the tabletop!”
“So why was it so terrible?” asked the doctor. “Was the sex not good?”
“Good?” she shouted. “It was the best sex I’ve had in twenty-five years!” She paused dramatically.
“But I’ll never be able to show me face in Starbucks again!”

@RupertLowe10 It’s fair to say you’ve lost many votes including mine. The way you’re behaving constantly attacking reform/farage is not what we are interested in. We care about our country not your personal grievances.

Let’s have a think about what’s happening in Makerfield.
This by election is costing taxpayers £226,208. And it’s happening because a Labour MP chose to step aside to make room for Andy Burnham’s leadership ambitions. He admitted that himself.
But here’s some more interesting figures.
If Burnham wins, he’ll have to resign as Greater Manchester Mayor too. That triggers another election costing taxpayers around £4.7 million.
So in total, nearly £5 million of public money could be spent not on improving services, fixing roads, supporting communities or helping struggling families, but on political career ambitions.
People are struggling with bills, crime, NHS waiting lists and communities being ignored. Yet Westminster politics still seems focused on who climbs the ladder next.
That’s what frustrates people. Not democracy. Political games made to look like democracy.

I've never posted about it on here before because I still worked at the BBC (retired now) but reading the bit in this about Frank Maloney, now Kellie Maloney.
He was a guest on a programme I worked on, one of the members of staff said 'I find it really hard to see him as a woman when he's always been Frank to me'. That was it.
A member of staff who was on the LGBT network overheard and reported him to management and he was called in by management and warned about his conduct.
He was just a techie like me, not a journalist.
I thought it was Stasi level outrageous. Never forgotten it. When I woke up.
