@Commoncents44th @SaysHummingbird The arc of his presidency will be no different from the repeated dying quail pattern and arc of his business failures and life-- one fat failure after another. It will end in tragedy with a pathetic loser whimper and, sorry BooBoo, no bang.

This bill needs be to be passed ASAP. To prevent dishonest, deceitful billionaires from buying elections. And if the election meddling billionaire is an immigrant — investigate, prosecute, denaturalize and deport him back to wherever the hell he came from.

BREAKING: NYT torches Trump’s $1.8 billion slush fund for Jan. 6 rioters as “worst corruption in modern times” that threatens our constitutional order! The Old Grey Lady has finally got her hackles up about Trump. In a blistering editorial, the New York Times calls out one of the most brazen acts of presidential corruption in modern American history after the Justice Department created a $1.8 billion taxpayer-funded slush fund to reward Jan. 6 criminal insurrectionists and other MAGA “victims” of the Biden administration. “Has there ever been an episode of presidential corruption so blatant and threatening to constitutional order? Certainly not in modern times,” the Editorial Page writers wrote. The fund is the product of a sham lawsuit Trump filed against his own IRS, which morphed into a sickening sweetheart deal where he drops the suit and taxpayers foot the bill to pay off his allies. The money will be controlled by a five-member commission hand-picked by acting AG Todd Blanche, Trump’s lap dog, with Trump able to fire any member at will and virtually no transparency on who gets paid, or how much. The Times called it what it is: a reward system for those willing to commit violence and break the law on the president’s behalf. It also brings together Trump’s three worst traits: his lust for money, punishing his enemies and rewarding his friends, and rewriting the history of January 6. It’s so bad that Treasury Department General Counsel Brian Morrissey couldn’t stand having anything to do with it and resigned in disgust just hours after the fund was announced. (Good for him.) Senate Majority Leader John Thune publicly admitted he was “not a big fan” while a host of others lambasted Blanche in private. This slush fund is part of a larger, dangerous project: turning federal law enforcement into Trump’s personal protection racket while incentivizing future lawlessness by his supporters. It sends a clear message that no matter how awfully and illegally you behave on Trump’s behalf, the government will have your back and possibly even cut you a check later. The editorial is a must-read warning: Trump is actively working to erode the guardrails of democracy, and this fund is the most naked example yet. Has he taken it too far this time? Indications are that he might. Let's hope the backlash continues.

Who agrees that Rep.Virginia Foxx needs to retire after the way she treated a 10 y/o boy who wrote an essay for school advocating for a $5,000 dollar tax rebate for electric cars. She replied by accusing his teacher of indoctrinating him & added Conservative reading material.

- Ken Paxton was indicted for securities fraud in 2015. - He evaded trial for 9 years while serving as Texas Attorney General. - A backroom deal allowed him to avoid jail time, resulting in only a fine. - He defrauded investors and faced no significant consequences. - The unfair situation highlights issues of injustice and power abuse dynamics.

Trump’s ill-conceived war against Iran was a total disaster. The end result? 13 American lives lost, 380 wounded, 29 billion dollars wasted, and America’s global credibility destroyed. And after all that, Iran gets to keep its stockpile of enriched uranium. Peak failure. 🏳️

The soldiers of the 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade have entered the Book of Records of Ukraine for their defense of Mala Tokmachka. They held in Zaporizhzhia Oblast for more than 1,500 consecutive days, making it one of the longest-held defensive positions of the modern Russo-Ukrainian war. Mala Tokmachka became a viral meme due to the Russian army’s unsuccessful attempts to capture it. For months, Russian propaganda reported the alleged seizure of the settlement, yet Ukrainian defenders repeatedly repelled the assaults or drove the enemy out of the outskirts. Throughout 1,500 days, the village has been under continuous assault: artillery fire, airstrikes, drone attacks, and ground storms without interruption for over four years. The brigade's response to the record: "The real reward is every meter of Ukrainian land still held."

According to @TreyYingst, reporting for Fox News, the current U.S.-Iran deal framework on the table has U.S. forces staying in the Iranian local region for 30 days, while frozen Iranian assets and funds. Additionally, per the report, sanctions waivers would be granted to Iran as well. However, amidst reports of the two sides achieving convergence on key issues, the U.S. side has continued to push that enriched material being handed over and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz are two key points of contention that Iran has been willing to work on, but Iranian outlets continue to deny such claims.

Kyiv is still reeling after the Russian strikes that left parts of the city in ruins. Across the city, people are clearing debris, helping neighbors, and trying to process what was lost overnight. Emergency teams remain at multiple impact sites, while support services continue assisting those affected. Psychologists have already helped 247 people with shock and stress. Officials say 78 people were injured and two were killed. The numbers may still change as recovery efforts continue. 📷Ukraine’s State Emergency Services

French President Emmanuel Macron warned Belarus's Alyaksandr Lukashenka against being drawn into Russia's war on Ukraine. AFP, citing a source close to the French presidency, reported the warning. Today's call was initiated by Paris, per Belarus's presidential press service. It was the first contact between the two leaders since 26 February 2022. Macron also pressed Lukashenka to take steps toward improving Belarus's relations with Europe. This comes after Russia's massive missile and drone attack on the Ukrainian capital last night. euromaidanpress.com/2026/05/24/fra…
