Thank the #CCEA chaired by Hon. PM Shri. @narendramodi ji for approving to set up Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) at Mumbai, Kanpur & Ahmedabad and providing further boost to the skill ecosystem.

The vision behind setting up of IISs is to build world-class skill training centres by learning from and imbibing best practices from internationally renowned existing skill institutions across the globe.

IISs are envisaged as state-of-the-art skill centre uniquely conceptualized to bring in best-in-class infrastructure and facilities to meet the aspirations of students, who enter the skill learning domain.

IISs will have strong industry connect through collaboration with both public and private sector, both for supporting latest training facilities in these institutes and also opportunities for on-the-job trainings in their industries for students of these institutes.

IISs will have autonomy in governance to enable innovation & promote seamless adoption of modern curricula. Setting up of these institutions will be a paradigm shift in the skilling ecosystem which will help equip our youth with best-in-class skills & enhance their employability

Chaired a meeting to create Skilling Ecosystem for the drivers in the country. Suggested to provide additional training to the drivers on digital payments, communication, behaviour, etc to improve their soft skills. Also emphasised on skilling ecosystem for urban women.
