Zohran Mamdani says New Yorkers should feel “shock” at Trump’s endorsement of Cuomo. “I did not… anticipate Andrew Cuomo going from being Donald Trump's puppet to being so nakedly his parrot.”

People act surprised that @ZohranKMamdani is on track for such a historic victory, when in reality he just used democracy the way it’s supposed to be used. Instead of just spending money on ads, he stuck to his values, rallied his base, and expanded the electorate. No city is quite like New York, but the lesson applies everywhere for winning young voters: talk with voters and ask what you can do for them. Tell them exactly how you’ll make life more affordable through your policies not just that you’ll “make things affordable.” Lastly, meet them where they are on TikTok, on social media, in their communities with a message that moves them to act by repeating the message of the campaign, and invite them to volunteer.

Final NYC early voting breakdown by age. That is a *very* young electorate for an off-year municipal election.

Tomorrow New Yorkers in my beloved hometown have a chance to write the first chapter of the America that will come after Trump. Voting for Zohram Mamdani is an act of hope, defiance, and community all at once.

The Mamdani campaign really illustrates what I love about NYC- you can be in Harlem at a church in the morning, hit Greenpoint for the marathon, somehow you're at the Knicks game with your boy, then you're at a gay bar in Bushwick. All in a day. The Big Apple baby, take a bite.

@LukewSavage I was initially reflexively hostile to a DSA candidate. Zohran has proven me wrong. He’s radically different from the anti-electoralism radicals. A democrat in the truest sense, interested in listening to and representing the broadest range of people. Impossible not to admire him

Whatever happens tomorrow, never forget that this doggedly positive and hopeful campaign—in every way a fight for basic dignity and joyful celebration of democratic pluralism—was relentlessly denounced by political and media elites as something sinister, dangerous, and violent.

"Without the night shift, there is no morning." Late Thursday night, I canvassed the taxi line at LaGuardia — and caught up with some old friends from @NYTWA.

@LukewSavage 100000% His opponents came with venom and hate, he approached the campaign with hope. We see the relentless sincerity, grassroots efforts. Zohran literally just listening to people at subways, places of worship, parks and clubs. Acknowledging all ppl as human beings.

@RossBarkan @barnes_law I’m honestly hoping Mamdani increases the wealth tax to 20% if he wins, just to fuck over all the people on Wall Street that enabled this shit to happen for short-sighted profit chasing.

Notable data from early voting in NYC: - Millennials (1981-96) ended up casting 28% of the early votes. Baby Boomers (1946-64) cast 29%. - Gen Z clocked in at 20% - Voters 55 and under were 56% overall. Good trend for Mamdani, less so for Cuomo.

@MichaelLangeNYC Talked to 35 people and sure enough: Mamdani 33 (~95%) Cuomo 2 (~5%) You really feel 95% in a different way when you ask people the same question one-by-one and get the same answer (basically) every single time.

Spent another hour exit polling this afternoon, this time at the Friends of Crown Heights preschool on Propsect Place. According to @MichaelLangeNYC, this is the southern end of the Commie Corridor Sr.

Arriving visitors will "hear in the airports over the loudspeaker, ‘I am your mayor, Zohran Mamdani, welcome to New York City,’ they will look at their children filled with pride,” @RoKhanna said. “They will say, ‘In New York any dream is still possible." nytimes.com/live/2025/11/0…
