Speaking during the opening of the NRM leaders’ retreat at the National Leadership Institute Kyankwanzi on Wednesday, Museveni congratulated the legislators on their electoral victory but reminded them that leadership comes with higher expectations and accountability.

President Yoweri Museveni has warned newly-elected Members of Parliament who subscribe to the ruling NRM against corruption and indiscipline, urging them to embrace integrity, ideological clarity, and a strong sense of responsibility as they assume leadership roles.

This afternoon, the Deputy Inspector General of Police @JamesOcaya, paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Chief Justice. During the meeting, the DIGP congratulated the Chief Justice on his appointment. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening coordination between their institutions and enhancing collaboration with other criminal justice actors to address case backlog and related bottlenecks within the justice system. The DIGP also presented a copy of the Annual Crime Report 2025.

Ongoing: The @NRMOnline leaders' retreat today kicked off with powerful lectures on various topics, including mindset change, the evolution of politics in Uganda, and the ideological principles of the NRM. Secretary General Rt Hon @TodwongR has informed the leaders that plans are underway to establish a Directorate of Policy Research, as well as expand the Directorate of Media and Communication, with a greater focus on digital and social media.
