Two sister drillships being built in Hyundai’s shipyard. One drillship was already floating and about to complete equipment commissioning while the second ship was still in dry dock awaiting derrick installation. Hyundai’s mass production line was unlike anything I’ve ever seen . . . Truly incredible! $rig $val $ne $do $tdw

It was more of a joke than anything bc when you start seeing drilling in Arctic headlines, you are no where near a bottom. I have no idea what oil will do, you can see the manipulation in paper markets is wild right now. If I had to guess there is still another leg higher but who knows. 🤷‍♂️

Besides a shorter term correction in oil(peace related) why are you suggesting a top? Rig count is near the lows and many companies have been more interested in paying dividends and buying back shares than finding more oil. Seems to me there is a very long way to go on the upside?

@ftenergy Ok maybe the top in oil is closer than I thought. Whenever drilling in the artic gets brought up the top is usually not far behind.

@Geiger_Capital Saudis also invested 2 billion into Jared’s fund. With the rumors floating around that Saudi wants this war to continue id imagine kushner would do his best to tank the deal.

United CEO said that they are cutting 5% of their flights. I’ve seen a few Asian countries promote working from home if they can. Now this from South Korea. This is what demand destruction looks like. It feels like business as usual in the U.S. bc they are largely isolated from the chaos but the rest of the world is really starting to feel the pain.

@Fireleap_ They’ve been pretty calculated so far, if things get heated back up again I can see them doing that as a final blown to make Trump bend the knee to finally end this all.

@offshoremayor If true, Iranians could just close Yanbu, yields would moon, and US would be done.

I said this a few weeks back. The bond market will eventually tell Trump he has to stop. Iran will continue to cause chaos till Trump is forced to 🌮. I personally think Trump lied about everything this morning, he’s just trying to buy himself some extra time.

Absolutely incredible: The US 20Y Note Yield is now above 5.00%. At the current pace, we will have 7% mortgages and $4.00 gas prices this week. Talk about a turn of events.

WTI crude averaged $98/bbl in 2014. That’s $772/bbl inflation adjusted to 2029. Oil is still cheap.

@offshoremayor great call. Too many 'smart' energy guys saying "wait until you get TACO and WTI breaks..then it's a great buying opportunity." Yeah...most stocks are up 50%+ over 6 mos including a bellwether like $XOM. Pullback better be chunky to justify being sidelined

I appreciate you always being positive as I try to be as well but that was just one example. I’ll give you another, anytime oil has risen by over 50% in this short period of time the U.S. has gone into a recession with the exception of 2022 (student loans were paused, government wasn’t allowed to foreclose on your house etc, COVID backstop, all that stuff ended last October)

@offshoremayor Considering that flight prices have pretty much remained the same over the last 50 years, I think we're going to be OK
