Of all the domestic animals we have in Nigeria, these are the only ones we domesticated by ourselves. All others were brought to us. The helmeted guinea fowl and the greater cane rat (also known as grasscutter) are native to Nigeria. We have domesticated them.

I ate mango that's freshly plucked right from the tree, for the first time in 10 years. The last time I ate a fresh mango that I plucked myself was 2016, in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
Don't get me wrong. I've eaten mangoes since then but they're always from sellers who probably kept unripe mangoes tied up somewhere for days. The taste is different.
