What I remember: > Weather ball red, fair weather ahead. > Weather ball blue, bad storms are in view. but wzzm13.com/weather-ball I don’t like rhymes where the the cadence and rhymes themselves do not force you to place the correct words in the correct places.

I made a blog post about post-quantum cryptography, specifically on how "Harvest now, decrypt later" is a real threat, and what it means for IRC and UnrealIRCd. vulnscan.org/post-quantum-c… #IRC #PQC

I used to use detached heads a lot. Now I prefer to use remote tracking branches which have been reset back to the past. Outdated branches just seems more in line with how git was designed to be used.

So frustrated that @Zendesk has no clear way to report abuse when other people enter my email on their customer support portals which do not require email verification (and why is unverified submission even an option?—very much an anti-feature if you ask me!).

Looks like Bitbucket is done trying to be a GitHub alternative. They are even suggesting that open source projects soliciting contributions from the general public accept and review patch files which is a big step backward. community.atlassian.com/forums/Bitbuck…

These days, almost every line of powershell I write starts with “CMD /C”.

Now that Windows ships with curl, powershell is even more weird in continuing to alias curl to some weird powershell functionality which doesn’t support the common curl invocation patterns.

So much MMS spam. These past couple days it has been MMS with images of text.

I liked Naver Pay better back in the day when I was allowed to use it. Now it keeps asking me to prove that I am Korean? I do have a balance of 20 won from way back in the day, but that won’t get me very far…

These type of race conditions are hard to reliably reproduce. But if you are going to change focus of textboxes, it would be better to not show the GUI or allow typing into the password box in a separate tick from the focus setting.

>when paypal.com focuses the email textbox after you’ve clicked on the password box and started typing your password Yes, if you visit paypal.com/signin , you might not even see the UI I saw because the email is only a textbox if you were logged in recently.

To that end, I wonder if there’s a better way use lilypond than ssh-ing to my super outdated Gentoo box. I almost don’t like the flexibility of lilypond files, but I also find data entry much easier than GUIs like musecore (not that I have tried to find out how to use them).

It is fun to make my own part arrangements, but it is hard to find that kind of time.

@normaldotcom I'm hoping to get my Canon PowerShot A520’s photos off of the old HDDs into Google photos. I hope to extract my old metadata from the phppix ridiculousness too. And while I'm at it I do want to fix the openrc thing. Why were you booting up your old Arch install?

@ohnobinki Hah, literally just this weekend I booted up my really old Arch install from an external hdd. Had gone 4467 days without an fsck 😅

Booted up nbisgentoo64 (my old old computer with which I played with x86-64 (amd64) Linux back before normal people were using x86-64 software) again. It was in the middle of a major openrc migration and I am amazed that it even lets me log in. Such nostalgia.

The various /usr/portage/metadata/timestamp files say 2016-11-25. 10 days short of 9 years. Wow.
