One of the biggest mistakes this season, and it wont get a mention. Recalling Harry Whitwell from a loan where he was doing well, becoming a bit of a hero and playing often, to sit on our bench. Purely because recruitment was shit.

We should allocate a city. Probably Brighton or Bristol as they tend to like this stuff, impose these new plans now and watch them like an experiment in a fume cupboard to see how they get on. If they fail they won't take the rest of us down. If they prosper we can think about allowing the policies elsewhere.
Politics UK@PolitlcsUK

🚨 NEW: Green leader Zack Polanski will call for policies to end the "affordability crisis" tomorrow - The introduction of a 10:1 pay ratio, whereby the highest-paid employee earns no more than ten times the lowest-paid - Free school meals for all primary and secondary pupils - Universal energy bill support for households and stronger rent controls - A customs union with the EU to cut business costs

Hard to avoid the wider resonance of the Peter Mandelson family story. From Herbert Morrison, his grandfather, a shop-worker turned trades unionist turned Labour minister, to a man lobbying the treasury to reduce a bankers' bonus tax at the behest of an ultra-rich paedo oligarch

Have you seen the price of gold? - we thought Gordon Brown was economically illiterate when between 1999-2002 he sold OUR gold, 395 tonnes of it at only $275. Had the Labour Government managed the economy properly - we would now be $66 billion richer ! Labour have never said sorry, so Keir over to you !

This dude was drafted to one of the worst teams in NBA history. Lost an NBA record 28 straight games. Been through the trenches to bring basketball back to Detroit. Never complained. Never blamed his teammates. Never asked for a trade. Just put his head down and worked. Nobody deserves this success more. An absolute DAWG.

If most Brits seriously think that inadvertently failing to obtain an obscure housing rental licence makes someone unfit to serve as Chancellor, then quite frankly we richly deserve to be governed by uninspiring technocrats.

Evergreen post that is more true now than ever: The absolute best person to be in American society is a mundane millionaire owner of a privately held company. It’s not athletes, politicians, celebrities, public company CEOs, doctors or lawyers. Here’s why: • unlimited earnings potential • greater control over time • *little public scrutiny / anonymity* You want your kids to have a great life? Encourage them to learn how to build and scale a simple business. They’ll find purpose, make a boatload of money, create jobs that support the community and have a great life. Entrepreneurship is not easy. But done right, it’s better than literally any alternative. And importantly, being in the public eye in this country is overrated.

'It should come as little surprise that backbench MP is one of the first jobs to be automated away. If the singularity starts by deleting the lowest-value processes first, the redundant political function seems a logical place to start. Many were chatbots already.'

Rushanara Ali should be free to use her property as she sees fit, consistent with her contractual obligations. She's done nothing wrong here. The Renter Rights' Bill her government (and suicidal Tories) have pushed is bad law and worse economics. bbc.com/news/articles/…

The term 'genius' is thrown around often, especially in the arts, but Brian Wilson absolutely qualifies. At his best, he was on par with Beethoven, Mozart, or Bach. RIP to the greatest American composer to have ever lived.
