This morning I got a message that changed how I run my SaaS. After a few weeks of validating I realised that it's not working for my users. They told me that I can't compete with Meta. That looks so obvious but I tried to hide that feeling for months. 😅 I had the difficult decision of: - Do I keep pushing to try and get a bit more visibility? - Or do I stop the SaaS here and repivot into something I'm more confident in? Ultimately I've decided to stop building AdClarify and figure out a new SaaS that I can put even more effort into. This is great for me though. AdClarify was the first time I tried cold outreach and I learnt so much about how to communicate with people. If there's one thing I've learnt it's that everything you learn only compounds and I could have spent hundreds on building and marketing only for it to fail even worse. Instead I'm transferring it all into a better and stronger project. And I actually get to use the phrase "3rd time's the charm" so hopefully I get to prove it right. 😅 No matter what comes out of the next project, I'm only 16, and I have decades to learn and for one thing to work.

It's been 16 years and I still haven't got something perfect first try It always takes a few iterations to get it right. Might just be me, but having the expectation of being right destroys any growth.

No one wants to work anymore because there is no reward. Half of us are living paycheck to paycheck. No saving for retirement. No saving for a house. Straight up two paychecks away from living on the street.

It's time to be honest. You nor me are making it to $1m ARR in the first year. We're not making it past the first year without patience either. Fuck consistency, we need the passion to make it that long.

For me, building a SaaS to $5k/month feels more achievable than getting a $5k/month full-time dev job. Maybe it’s just my path 😐
