@midwestern_ope Also Midwest: a side dish consisting of any form of potato/cheese will be a hit.

@TURBOPOSSUM On #2 her water didn’t break until just before delivery as he was nearly 10lbs. Sounded like a wave crashing. (Every woman I’ve told that to “omg that poor woman).

@TURBOPOSSUM A gas powered Yamaha engined golf cart will basically run forever.

@BlutaufdemEis @GordMagill The men of Bethlehem Steel. The Empire State Building, the Golden Gate Bridge, thousands of miles of rail. The industrial might that helped win world wars.

There's a sense of pride that comes along with doing something highly specialized in your field
Being able to say to your kids
"Hey you see that TV show, I worked with those people"
Or
"This road we're driving on, your daddy helped make that road"
That sense of pride was passed down to me by my fathers and grandfathers
The enemy would have that spirit destroyed
They would have you feel as though you are spiritually homeless, and without purpose
It's up to you to say no, we built this place, it's ours, you can't have it, you can't denigrate our history and purpose with your chicanery
Be proud of who you are, what you accomplished and of your ancestors

Enabling drug use. This is the root of the rot.
Spencer Pratt@spencerpratt
BUSTED: Karen Bass caught paying street ops in black vehicles passing out needles and tourniquets to keep addicts high so her NGO friends can continue to profit off their misery and steal their Medicare $$. These people are sick. I’m ending this madness and imposing mandatory treatment. Enough death and misery.

@TURBOPOSSUM How else do you get shirtless guys screaming obscenities at the store clerk who won’t sell him beer with no ID?
English

@baltic_dan Im sorry for your loss. I hope your family/friends are as good to you as mine were to me during that time. It meant a lot to me.
English

I can’t imagine having to deal with that right now. I’d be in jail. Thank god, I have my own shop

@baltic_dan I was at work when I got the call that my dad died. My boss didn’t want to let me go home. Actual argument. 15 years there and had never asked for anything. Later, he couldn’t bother to submit obituary to payroll for 2 days of bereavement pay.

@TURBOPOSSUM @CyrusDeranged The fact it has some utility is how I justified buying it. Of course then I had to buy a bigger trailer.

@wrowclif When I was new, I was baffled at how old men could get so much done in a shift; now I’m an old head and can out produce guys half my age because of experience.
English

@oldsman79 In the broadest sense, my job is to solve problems.
And they seem to make new problems every day.
English

@wrowclif I watched “Emperor of the North” with Ernest Borgnine, set in 1933. My job duties as a freight railroad conductor are essentially unchanged since then.
English

@oldsman79 Yes and no.
Everything is always changing, and you have to learn new things, but "continuing ed" in the like school sense absolutely not.
Also the tech stack for a project tends to stagnate over time, so you don't have to stay on the bleeding edge unless you're job hopping

@Hunter7___ Honorable mentions: Martina McBride , Broken Wing, what a voice, and Pam Tillis “Maybe it was Memphis” acoustic set at the Grand Ole Opry. Blown away.
English

@Hunter7___ “Funny how time slips away”-Willie. “For the good times”-Ray Price. “Drive”-Alan Jackson. “Pick me up on your way down”-Charlie Walker.

@HERDchronicles I’m obviously biased as I remember it being filmed here. Great film/cast.

@RamboVanHalen @paulshaffer Just got it today. Review will be at some point.
English

@oldsman79 @paulshaffer Thank you sir. I'm glad you enjoyed it🫡
English

Shameless attention whore post. (I enjoyed reading your work here and looking forward to the book). @RamboVanHalen I also bought @paulshaffer s memoir.
