I went to Dubai today to see whether it had really “collapsed” as some people claim. When I arrived, I found new developments and new buildings being constructed everywhere.🤷🏻‍♂️

@MickeyDangerez You are now living in one of those rare countries where whining gets things done. All the best to your family!

⚠️ UPDATE: An assessor from Spangler Restoration just came out to assess the issue. They wouldn't tell us it's not mold but they'll be cleaning all of it if the estate signs off. Hopefully it would be sorted after that. They'll also be cleaning at our American neighbors next door. We're so happy there is a possibility that we can continue to stay here, mold- or as they put it, "organic matter"-free. If my "whining" helps protect my son's health and that of Americans, it's a win in my books. Things are happening! I'll keep you guys posted. 🙏🙏🙏

@thewakeninq They did win our admiration, for sure! One more reason for me to row my way to Norway again soon. That country is pristine and the people… well… they showed us in person. 🇳🇴 ❤️

Anyone with solid domain knowledge can build functional prototypes with AI these days. Good looking ones too! These prototypes serve as proof of concept for everyone along the tech stack, but especially for those beyond it, including those prospective clients who stand by seeing and believing first. The V in the MVP takes coding and the business founding it to another level. This is the level where the product no longer belongs to the builders, but to those who use it.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but for software engineers, no matter your AI workflow, the most important lesson of 2025 and 2026: "If it's fibe/loop-coded, it's a proof of concept, not an MVP."

@innuendo_pibara Mythos had a feast on hand-written code thought for decades to be the best and most secure. You do have a point when it comes to inspecting that AI generated code though. This is what differentiates between engineering and hobby.

Still a market for products by ppl openly admitting to still vibing it, after what the Mythos hype woke us up to? Guys, if you don't hand write the most mision critical code and inspect all security sensitive LLM generated code, some hacker with agents will have a great day.

Honesty time: I haven’t written a line of code “by hand” in about a year. And lately, I am not even bothered to read too much into it.

Oh… wow… The typical mob trend on X is insult- and-run, but you took the time to get back to me with an explanation at my request, so I guess you’re not one of those. Thanks! You do write well, so you deserve my explanation in return and perhaps appreciate it too. I don’t know about you, but I get many of these punch questions on my feed daily from those who enjoy the revenue sharing from X. There’s nothing in this post and to many similar others that invite or deserve critical thinking. You and I are the clickbait (me) and clickrage (you) audience for this content author. I could have entertained this post and answered with something trivial, such as Champagne or chocolate or that icy Heineken served to me during my layover at the Amsterdam airport by this kind bartender who could talk with so much passion about growing his own flowers. That would have warmed a lot of European hearts and grant me likes and followers too… you may have loved that comment as well, who knows? I don’t fall for clickbait easily, so I choose to speak my mind. The post invited for personal opinions, so I gave mine. I lived half my life in Europe and half in the US. Some harsh times in the part of Europe I come from, but nonetheless, I lived, studied, and worked on both sides of the Atlantic. I live in the US by choice and except for family, nothing… absolutely nothing makes me long for Europe as being better or tastier or more beautiful or more profound. So, visiting places, crawling those streets in Europe and cruising its waters too always give me joy, but no regrets. So, it is ok if the author of the post makes an extra dollar on our exchange, as now we both know more. Enjoy your life, wherever it fulfills you. If you can recommend anything in the Netherlands that would blow me away, I am willing to listen. 💙

@olentia09 @SteveOnSpeed Because you seem convinced that America is somehow, almost miraculously, superior in every conceivable way. That is such a staggeringly narrow-minded, short-sighted, and intellectually shallow belief that it raises serious questions about your ability to think critically.

Name one thing that Europe does better than the United States. I'll go first: Public transportation.

@AngryFker @SteveOnSpeed Ah… that! Well, the fact that you are conveying this opinion on X, which is American tech that also builds robots, makes it quite awkward for me to comment any further. Enjoy Europe in Europe! 😊

@olentia09 @SteveOnSpeed nah, you ignore common history and failed to create viable own. imagine being in love with slavery, then deny it and now planting seeds for inevitable robot abuse. can't wait for another pathetic war for the rights of robots. cool story. will there be another algae pool for it?

Speaking as an Americophile, the US has two significant weaknesses it would do well to eliminate: celebrity culture and the two-party monopoly.

So… this implies that the US inherited all that European history and evolved from there to build its own. That’s a pretty good start, I should add. But to stay relevant to the original post and my comment: with my heritage, I carry a bit of that European history here in America. I'm perfectly happy experiencing that history right here in the US, and I don't think living in Europe would make me any better off. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@JakubKudlacz @SteveOnSpeed About the “live to work” in America, you make a strong point.😊 I did, however, “work to live” in Europe for a couple of decades. Did not care much for it from that perspective. Work is my life, so I guess the American culture fits me well.
