@DeputyGrocott Thanks. This has been my day.... a trainwreck of an observed lesson with y11 demonstrating they have learnt nothing and me being asked why not, even though last 3 lessons were on revising this subject.

Always remember that teaching is a job that people put their heart, soul & emotions into.Nobody wants to go in & do a bad job. When you deal with humans who put everything into the job they do,just make sure you’re careful when it comes to feedback & criticism. Support, don’t squash

I don’t know why as a 25-year-old woman I still feel embarrassed that I prefer pads over tampons when I’m on my period. Does anyone else feel this way? Can we end this stigma please? No period product shaming! Wear what you’re comfortable with! You’re not gross!

@ARCpricealex All teachers have to use maths to interpret data and progress. We all do statistics, heads of dept do budgets. My head teacher is a PE teacher, but also demonstrated he has the maths and English skills to progress.

Haircuts are one of the most effective ways to change up your look, but that’s also why it’s important to pick the right one.

@RogersHistory My teacher taking us on school trips in their own car to the art gallery, then she'd sit in the coffee shop and tell us to look round.... did this multiple times in one year!

Gill, babes, last year four of the classes in my dept only had a qualified teacher for three months. A teacher left last week and we can’t replace them. My A Level physics students have no teacher. Us striking is not the problem. 8 days is not the problem.
Gillian Keegan@GillianKeegan

Last year, school strikes resulted in 25 million school days being lost cumulatively. Children should not have to suffer a repeat of this disruption. I’m announcing that we will introduce minimum service levels in schools so that pupils get the education they need and deserve.

Teachers - is this the most tired/fatigued you think you've ever been at this stage of a school year? (explain in comments please!) Interested in this after various posts I've seen on here this week...

@TeachLeadAAli It should be a collective income. The individual income calculation undermines those who value traditional families where one parent stays home to be a parent as their full time job.

Child benefit is so unfair- whilst totally needed for many, a household with both partners earning under £60k (£119,999 combined) can keep their child benefit but a household with only one partner earning over £60k (£60k combined) has to pay it back.

@UnofficialOA I want to strike, can strike and be ok, and want to to support the funding of future teachers (I'm nearly done at 50), but my daughter starts ect year in sept, and I don't want strikes to cause ects hardship. Tough decision. Likely to vote reject, but expecting to be in minority

The NEU says we are guaranteed the 6.5% (3% government funded) even if we reject. So now I believe we should reject - as recommended by lots of districts. However, the NASUWT (as usual) have been less active than the NEU and striking without them will accomplish nothing.

@missradders We can't cave at 6.5 not back dated and not near wales and Scotland scales. My school is on the English side of welsh border and teachers will leave. Got to reject.

I was pretty convinced by Mary and Kev tonight. I went in the zoom 98% ready to reject and have come out likely to accept. What’s everyone’s thoughts?

@TTRadioOfficial @RogersHistory Reject. It is not going to solve recruitment and retention and is not on par with Scotland or Wales. Plus, We will have redundancies due to not being fully funded.
