Reece Review - Yesterday we drew 3–3 with a promotion‑chasing Worthing United — yet more evidence of our quality in another tough game, made even tougher by playing with ten men for over 90 minutes, plus some very questionable timekeeping. Before anything else, I want to highlight 17‑year‑old Luca, who stepped up and went in goal for almost the entire match. He was unbelievable and deserves a huge amount of credit. He is the absolute encapsulation of what AFC Uckfield Town is all about — commitment, bravery, and pride in the badge. We had a clear game plan, but that went out the window within seconds after conceding early and then losing our goalkeeper Charlie to a red card. From that moment on it was an uphill battle, and I couldn’t be prouder of how we responded. Unsurprisingly to me, we looked more dangerous once we went down to ten men. That’s where my pride comes from with this group. It was a full‑throttle game between two good sides — a neutral’s dream — and we matched them stride for stride despite the circumstances. I’m never one to talk about officials, but when a match with six goals, multiple yellows, a red card and end‑to‑end football ends with both teams and both sets of supporters talking about the officiating, that’s never a good sign. But despite everything thrown at us today, the lads showed heart, quality and character once again.
