@omar @GraphicMatt I don't think that's it. I think there'll be a light for through traffic that stays red and a light on the right side that's marked "right turn signal". That way the city can install red light cameras and ticket drivers going through (a red light).

New data from the city suggests the presence of traffic agents on the King Street transit corridor reduced average eastbound streetcar travel time in the evening rush from 45-65 minutes to 17-21 minutes.

@GraphicMatt No the car light won't stay red, it will show a right turn arrow ONLY.. or left too if that's allowed. I'm glad they are finally doing something about this, I do think many people who drive straight just don't know they can't

In addition to the traffic agent program, the city is finally looking at changing the traffic lights, so there will be separate signals for cars — which will presumably just stay red? — and streetcars. This should mean they can automate enforcement with red-light cameras too.

@royinori Great article. This nuance is so important and it's unfortunate that what's happened at York Memo, and what to do about it, got twisted into discussions of the SRO program. The point should be supporting the students, talking about police is a way to avoid the needed discussion

Discussions around York Memo have focused on student behaviour, on wild stories of violence & disruption (now disputed by both the students and the TDSB), without acknowledging the devastating impact of the merger on their access to education. It's time to hear from the students:

Today, I visited Anima Mundi, part of the Vatican Museum with Indigenous “artifacts” kept in the Church’s private collection. There is an “Ontario”pipe stove from the 18th century, Haida Gwaii masks from the 18th Century, much more. I photographed them and was asked to leave.

@MOHAWKEMOTIONS When I flew to the US I was able to get a rapid antigen test from shoppers pharmacist for $40. Got result in 15 minutes. If they need a molecular test, I heard Maple turns around really fast
