But we also support doctors being able to discuss with their patients and decide together the best treatments for each individual patient (including knee arthroscopy sometimes…)

Nothing on Sport and Exercise Medicine in the Fed budget. Essentially we are still not considered part of Medicare. Consult rebates lower than they were 20 years ago, lower than Allied Health & GPs. We survive as a medical specialty because patients pay our fees not Medicare

There is undoubtedly a level of error and also some fraud but the claim of $8b or 30% without good evidence is simply sensationalist and lazy journalism. Do better

Access to #telehealth has been a success story out of the #COVID19 crisis. I wrote to govt today asking that temporary access for GPs and other doctors be extended until March while we work out how to keep it long term @amapresident

Not sure how that makes me right wing?? And to avoid doubt, the AMA will be stronger than ever and doing more, not less on the policy front. AMA brings doctors together and we will continue to advocate on issues that matter to all Australians @amapresident

@LiangRhea @AOA_ortho AOA has taken huge strides on the path to greater gender diversity and some support and recognition of those efforts would be more helpful than snide tweets. The board is leading the orthopaedic profession in this direction despite consisting of quite a few ‘white’ men.

The AOA and #AOANJRR Boards recently met to develop the Registry's next Strategic Plan. Participants shared ideas, reviewed member survey input, and developed the Plan – overall, a very successful workshop with many engaging discussions and ideas. #registry #jointreplacement
