Yep and level design fell off a cliff in this genre first after random battle stopped being the norm and second after battles basically became fully optional with how passive and pushed away enemies are.

Staying in Midgar for 50 hours (as opposed to 5 hours) is what made Remake so big... Not from it being on "modern hardware".

They definitely could've done FF7 in a single release had they followed the same pacing and not filled it to the brim with padding. It OG FF7 was a single game. It being across multiple discs isn't the same as splitting the game up into multiple installments.

I played the first 90 minutes of the original Final Fantasy VII.
Wow, I had no idea how short the Midgar arc was in the OG.
I've already met Aerith, which is like Chapter 8 in Remake and that's almost the halfway point of that game.

You can fake your voice and face, but your eyes are much harder. Watching the clip itself, the way Max paced his sentences felt rehearsed. There's no way you befriend Capcom USA and NOT hear something. Frankly, making a video denying such a specific leak isn't very convincing.

@Aurondarklord Yes, It's universally understood that Asians "look younger"... but that also comes with the Asian features. Notice how the game character looks European tho (with a "hint" of Asian sprinkled in) European women don't typically look like they're 9 years old. This is the problem.
