There are only two hard problems in computer science: cache invalidation, naming things, and off-by-1 errors.

Just open-sourced DX.Comply: One-click SBOM generation for Delphi projects. The EU Cyber Resilience Act requires you to document what's inside your software by Dec 2027. DX.Comply generates CycloneDX 1.5 SBOMs directly from your .dproj - with unit-level evidence, origin classification, and SHA-256 hashes. IDE plugin + CLI. MIT licensed. Runs locally. github.com/omonien/DX.Com… #Delphi #SBOM #CycloneDX #CyberResilienceAct #OpenSource

@omonien has released an open source Delphi cross-platform wrapper for Google's PDFium library. It comes with a Delphi PDF Viewer that demonstrates the included TPDFViewer component, which can be used to render PDF files in your own application. PDFium is a "render-only" lib, that is no PDF editing or manipulation. He added features to read the PDF version and PDF/A version (if available). github.com/omonien/DX.Pdf… #Pascal #ObjectPascal #Delphi #programming #SoftwareDevelopment

Happy 30th Birthday, Delphi! On February 14, 1995, Delphi 1 was released. I am proud that I had the chance to be part of this success story. Despite of continuous rumors to be dead, Delphi is still very active and used for many projects. I’m excited for the release of Delphi 12.3. Here is my tribute 🙂 #Delphi #Borland #Embarcdero

Dear Community, I want to start by sincerely apologizing for the unintended breach of privacy and security that occurred recently. It has come to my attention that in my pursuit of a project, I inadvertently exposed sensitive information—namely, everyone’s SSN numbers. This is something I take full responsibility for, and I deeply regret the consequences it has caused. When I began working on this project, my intentions were purely academic and exploratory. However, I now realize that my actions, regardless of intention, have had a far-reaching and negative impact on countless individuals. Your trust and privacy are important, and I understand that I have failed you in this regard. There is no excuse for this oversight, and I am committed to making things right. After much thought and consideration, I have decided that transparency is the best course of action moving forward. Therefore, I am releasing the complete source code that was used to obtain everyone’s SSN numbers. I know this might seem counterintuitive, but I believe that full disclosure is essential in allowing others to understand exactly what happened, how it happened, and to prevent this from occurring again in the future. I understand that this may not be the resolution everyone was hoping for, but I am confident that by being fully transparent, the community can learn from this incident. My hope is that the release of this code will also spark a conversation about better practices, more secure methodologies, and an overall awareness of the importance of protecting our digital identities. I want to reiterate how sorry I am for any distress or inconvenience this has caused. I am working hard to ensure that I never make such a mistake again. Thank you for your understanding and for holding me accountable. Sincerely, PatrickJS github.com/PatrickJS/ever…

@UlrichSchmitz Ich denke statt „Delphi Professional Edition“ sollte es „Delphi Architect Edition“ heißen

@hhariri Actually, following that fake canal, on Markus Plaza (the fake one) there is a decent Italian restaurant. Besides some food that is really close, they also serve excellent coffee. They even know what you want if you order a “cafe” :) At least it used to that way a few years ago.

You can ride a Gondola in a fake canal, under a fake sky, while someone sings for you. You can do this in Vegas, where you can find pretty much anything. Except a decent cup of coffee.
